I think it’s a kind of genius that he quotes that poem/story at every rally.
He knows what people are feeling/thinking, and he knows their worries about the future - even if the people, for various reasons, are afraid to articulate those worries. He’s found a way to touch those concerns.

I wonder what his singing voice is like. He could get the crowd to sing the chorus along with him.
