Ted Cruz Declares Wisconsin A Turning Point In The GOP Campaign
By Sean Sullivan and Philip Rucker April 5
MILWAUKEE Ted Cruz rolled to a landslide victory Tuesday in Wisconsins hotly contested Republican presidential primary, capitalizing on a difficult stretch for Donald Trump to cut into the front-runners overall delegate lead and deliver a psychological blow to the billionaire mogul.
Though the senator from Texas is reviled by many party leaders for his explosive and polarizing brand of politics, Cruz won over establishment Republicans as well as grass-roots conservative activists across this state who had come together in an urgent push to stop Trump. Late returns showed him leading Trump by a wide margin.
Cruz hopes his Wisconsin win transforms the trajectory of the race. Wisconsin adds a important Midwestern bellwether to the basket of mostly Southern or rural states he has won to date, giving the Texan evidence that he can appeal beyond ultra-conservative and religious voters.
Savoring his biggest night since winning the kickoff Iowa caucuses in February, Cruz declared before cheering supporters here in Milwaukee: Tonight is a turning point. It is a rallying cry. It is a call from the hardworking men and women of Wisconsin to the people of America: We have a choice a real choice.
Trump remains in a favorable position nationally, but Cruz now has fresh momentum heading into future contests and Tuesdays results increase the possibility that the nomination battle spills onto the floor of the partys July convention in Cleveland

Ah, the personal attack when you can think for yourself. Classy.

that is funny....
but also, quite true.
Cruz’s statement about New York Values is going to come back to bite him in the ass.
Yup! and at some points many of the percents Cruz was only leading by 100 or so votes. It’s obvious much of the state did not vote for him, and if reports of voting machine issues are at all valid.......likely others got tallied in error.
Congrats. Ted just went from needing 88% of the remaining delegates to 94%, if he plans on gettint 1237 delegates before the convention.
.
Last time I looked, Maine was slightly east of the Mississippi.
( And without the MSM’s help)
Trump is a conman (Trump University) a snake oil salesman (Trump Taj Mahal Casino; Trump Shuttle; Trump Steaks) is losing to Hillary by 11% points and to Bernie by 17% point, is viewed unfavorably by 70% of the women who make up 53% of the electorate, and now settled a case involving criminal conduct. Nice.
Oh, and not to mention, a potential First Lady who posed seductively nude in a Men’s Magazine so that men may leer at her and have their sexual fantasizes fulfilled, all in return for a seven figure paycheck. Apparently, the Donald’s billions were not enough.
If TRUMP can ‘WIN’ these Winner Take All states....
Connecticut 26-Apr 28
Rhode Island 26-Apr 19
Delaware 26-Apr 16
Maryland 26-Apr 38
New Jersey 7-Jun 51
Pennsylvania 26-Apr 71
California 7-Jun 172
Get 80% of the 95 NY Delegates... 70
Then all he needs is to get only “32” out of the following 130 “Proportional” states
West Virginia 10-May 34
Oregon 17-May 28
Washington 24-May 44
New Mexico 7-Jun 24
130
LOL...turning point....in his mind.
Good for Ted, but I want to hear about the Enemy, Hillary Clinton. I’m so hoping she’s getting her fat pantsuit kicked, but I’ve heard almost nothing on FR, so I don’t know what’s happening on the dem side (and I can’t stomach going to a mainstream outlet.)
I will vote for whoever can kick the shit out of that evil Clinton entity. If Cruz gets a case of the Romneys and treats her nice after he’s nominated, then he can flat kiss my ass, but I’ll still pull the lever for him as the only chance we’ve got to stop the Clinton 3rd Reich.
Right on mark.
It will be heart wrenching for all of the Cruz supporters who believed that Ted was the anointed one.
There is a profound reason why Phyllis, Sarah, Sheriff Joe, Franklin and Jeff endorsed Trump.
This election is about allegiance to the United States. Make no mistake.
Do you folks think for one hot minute that if it were Jeb in Trumps position that the GOPe would allow Kasich to stay in? That they would have allowed Cruz to stay in? Fools!
Here is me with a foreshadowing when your delusions about Cruz crash & burn: I told you so.
Interesting way to visualize what we all know, but Cruzers won’t admit. There is NO state more Cruz-friendly than Wisconsin: with a Republican Governor who endorsed him, the Speaker of the House, the RNC Chairman all of whom hate Trump and have a long history of sticking together.
Cruz couldn’t win Illinois, Michigan, or Minnesota and had to cheat to win Iowa - all adjacent states to WI. He says this is a turning point, and it is - the point at which he turns back to Texas.
There’s still a sex-scandal bubbling under that will finish off whatever is left of his dignity and credibility, and lawsuits prepared and ready to be filed claiming his is not a natural born citizen in the highly unlikely event he should become the nominee.
Cruz is not The Won.
Trump spent his entire campaign making enemies of every group not bowing to him. Now his chickens are coming home to roost. He has the highest unfavorability ratings in the history of polling. The Trump express has jumped the tracks.
you seem to have a lot of butthurt for someone whose idol won tonight
Pffffft.
.
Nobody gets to 1237, but Ted Cruz will be the next president.
And I’m sure he will beat Trump’s numbers before the convention.
With Trump covered with looser smell, that should be a downhill run.
.
Why would you say such mean things to Trump supporters?
