Ted Cruz Declares Wisconsin A Turning Point In The GOP Campaign
By Sean Sullivan and Philip Rucker April 5
MILWAUKEE Ted Cruz rolled to a landslide victory Tuesday in Wisconsins hotly contested Republican presidential primary, capitalizing on a difficult stretch for Donald Trump to cut into the front-runners overall delegate lead and deliver a psychological blow to the billionaire mogul.
Though the senator from Texas is reviled by many party leaders for his explosive and polarizing brand of politics, Cruz won over establishment Republicans as well as grass-roots conservative activists across this state who had come together in an urgent push to stop Trump. Late returns showed him leading Trump by a wide margin.
Cruz hopes his Wisconsin win transforms the trajectory of the race. Wisconsin adds a important Midwestern bellwether to the basket of mostly Southern or rural states he has won to date, giving the Texan evidence that he can appeal beyond ultra-conservative and religious voters.
Savoring his biggest night since winning the kickoff Iowa caucuses in February, Cruz declared before cheering supporters here in Milwaukee: Tonight is a turning point. It is a rallying cry. It is a call from the hardworking men and women of Wisconsin to the people of America: We have a choice a real choice.
Trump remains in a favorable position nationally, but Cruz now has fresh momentum heading into future contests and Tuesdays results increase the possibility that the nomination battle spills onto the floor of the partys July convention in Cleveland

“No one has read the Bible more than me.” Donald Trump
So much sour grapes tonight.
Maybe some wine would help.
So much sour grapes tonight.
Maybe some wine would help.
Trump has never won any state by 50% or more.
What’s up with that?
> Cruz has never said anything personal about Trump.
Hahahahahahaha!
Nah, let teddy use that wine to seduce some groupie Cruznadian staffer tonight!
Enjoy the reprieve. You deserve it.
No, he does not. Trump has a plurality but not a majority. He has not won a majority of the votes in any state (only the Northern Mariana Islands), much less the majority in all the states combined.
just watch the Dems win 2016 in a landslide, take the Senate. . . .
That is what could happen if Trump is the nominee. He is wildly unpopular across the nation, and he could drag down many good conservatives along with him.
Cruz is a creep. And his wife, too. Disgusting characters, both.
Trump's unfavorable ratings are through the roof, and getting worse. Lots of people think he is pretty disgusting.
> He is wildly unpopular across the nation
So much so that he’s crushing Cruz.
Don’t be so sure. These are closed primaries and Cruz does well in such primaries.
Actually, no he doesn't. He has about 35% of the votes cast in the GOP primaries. That is not a majority.
Oh I don’t know. He’s won 22 contests. Double that of Cruz. The only way Cruz wins this one outright is ask for a do over. Losing the south pretty much killed Cruz. Now he only has hope.
Ted's wedding photo with Heidi is ghastly.
He looks like he is wearing makeup.
“...he only needs another 225 to keep Trump from winning the nomination.”
How about actually WINNING the nomination, or is that too novel an idea?
He’s just a GOPe errand boy.
It a yuge turning point. Trump has been self destructing and will continue to do so because he can’t stop himself. During Ted’s speech tonight he had already raised $2 million today at what - 9:30? Trump’s support is not growing at all. Trump will not win an open convention because about 2/3 of republican voters do not want Trump. The moral is one should vet the candidate they support. Dem research on Trump shows 80% of what they have on him has not been talked/written about and the Sabato model has Hillary beating Trump in a yuge landslide.
Vote for your Uniparty lackey. Mr. TPA/TPP. Mr Heidi Cruz, endorser of the NAU.
Go ahead. Vote for your Bible thumping blasphemer.
-—And when a braggart loses, that loser smell just wont wash out.

.
I’ll keep that in mind for the next several states....
Before tonight there were 867 delegates remaining. To reach 1237 delegates Trump required 56% of the remaining delegates. To reach 1237 delegates Cruz required 88% of the remaining delegates. After tonight there are 825 delegates remaining. To reach 1237 delegates Trump requires 58% of the remaining delegates. To reach 1237 delegates Cruz requires 89% of the remaining delegates.
Cruz lost ground in Wisconsin. He continues to move closer to elimination.
nice.
