Ted Cruz Declares Wisconsin ‘A Turning Point’ In The GOP Campaign

By Sean Sullivan and Philip Rucker April 5

MILWAUKEE — Ted Cruz rolled to a landslide victory Tuesday in Wisconsin’s hotly contested Republican presidential primary, capitalizing on a difficult stretch for Donald Trump to cut into the front-runner’s overall delegate lead and deliver a psychological blow to the billionaire mogul.

Though the senator from Texas is reviled by many party leaders for his explosive and polarizing brand of politics, Cruz won over establishment Republicans as well as grass-roots conservative activists across this state who had come together in an urgent push to stop Trump. Late returns showed him leading Trump by a wide margin.

Cruz hopes his Wisconsin win transforms the trajectory of the race. Wisconsin adds a important Midwestern bellwether to the basket of mostly Southern or rural states he has won to date, giving the Texan evidence that he can appeal beyond ultra-conservative and religious voters.

Savoring his biggest night since winning the kickoff Iowa caucuses in February, Cruz declared before cheering supporters here in Milwaukee: “Tonight is a turning point. It is a rallying cry. It is a call from the hardworking men and women of Wisconsin to the people of America: We have a choice — a real choice.”

Trump remains in a favorable position nationally, but Cruz now has fresh momentum heading into future contests and Tuesday’s results increase the possibility that the nomination battle spills onto the floor of the party’s July convention in Cleveland

Utah. Isn’t that were Glen Beck called Cruz the fulfillment of prophecy? And Cruz, the blasphemer, reveled in it.

LOL! Cartoonish, buffoonish pair. Impossible to take either one of them seriously.

Trump has all the right enemies.

Cruz has all the wrong friends.

I really don’t give a shit, I will vote for whoever has a chance to defeat her. I’ve studied the Clintins almost 25 years, and they are in my opinion otherworldly evil. So whomever takes the most fevered fight to her and is nominated to go up against her—that’s where my vote will go.

Well, in that case you might just be feelin' The Bern. I doubt Clinton will make the cut.

> But Cruz and Kasich only need to combine for a total of 225 bound delegates to keep Trump from clinching the nomination.

Thanks for uncloaking.

I thought Cruz was supposed to sweep Wisconsin with over 50% and win all the delegates?

But right now with 93% in, Cruz is under 50% and Trump has won 3 delegates.

So it looks like the “momentum” isn’t so momentous. Cruz has 487,652 votes right now, Trump has 350,028. And Wisconsin gave us that pathetic **** Paul Ryan the GOPe “go to guy”.

So 33 delegates now means, what?
Who did amnesty Romney endorse? Kasich?
Who did amnesty Lindsey Graham endorse? Kasich?
Who did amnesty Jeb Bush endorse? Kasich?
Who did amnesty Scott Walker endorse? Kasich?

They endorsed Cruz, not Kasich.
Who endorsed Kasich? Trent Lott, Tom Ridge, Tom Campbell (CA) – all “formers”.

So all the “in powers” support Cruz, and all the “formers” support Kasich. Sounds like Cruz and his CFR globalist wife are in cahoots with the establishment, not Kasich.

So who is more establishment, Kasich or Cruz?

If I am going to be disenfranchised by Cruz operatives working with the GOPe, and Kasich, too, if the will of the majority of the Republican base is going to be disrespected and molested by such a gaggle of goons who do not respect the base and their votes, it doesn’t matter if Kasich or Cruz, the end result will be the same – a Hillary landslide – then give me Kasich just for the satisfaction of seeing the GOPe Cruz dupes sit in their own horse ****. The pox on all of them.

But wait until New York comes in.

I looked up your statement about Maine being won by Cruz, and you were right. I have revised my map to indicate the Maine win.

Cruz has won two states east of the Mississippi.

Seriously though. Cruz claims to be a reverent person yet he allows himself to be called the fulfillment of prophecy - and he revels in it.

This guy is despicable.

If Trump does not get to 1237 before the convention, that means the nominee will be decided at the convention. And besides Cruz’s delegates, there will be hundreds of other non-Trump delegates at the convention. Those delegates will need to go somewhere. If they go to Cruz, that is not “subverting” anything. That is how a convention works.

Okay, then you would like to spit out the idea that the guy getting 900 delegates deserves the nomination more than the guy getting 1200.

Something like 1600 would not have voted for Cruz.

Something like 1300 would not have voted for Trump.

LOL

That actually makes sense to you.

No wonder you folks need so much help here.

I’m not sure of that, but I’m a NY Republican and Cruz has MY vote because I want a guy with a proven record as a constitutional conservative who is also an informed articulate debater who can slice and dice any Democrat in a debate.

I like a lot of what Trump says but I don’t see him doing that. He is a populist, not a conservative, who is always long on promises and short on specifics, He is too hot headed and always allows himself to
Be baited into doing and saying dumb things that just get him in trouble..

But if Trump gets the nomination, will I vote for him in November?

HELL YES! I’d crawl naked over broken glass on Election Day to vote for him instead of letting Hillary become President!

Soooo... My fellow Cruz and Trump supporters,,,please cut the circular firing squad crap and remember that although we each have our preferred candidate....that the REAL enemy are the LIBTARD DEMOCRATS destroying our country!!!

Unite and fight THOSE bastards....not each other!

KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE. Victory over our COMMON ENEMY!

Cruz only picked up 36 delegates?

Yep. And he only needs another 225 to keep Trump from winning the nomination.

“If they go to Cruz, that is not “subverting” anything. That is how a convention works.”

No, that isn’t “how it works” in an insurgent anti-establishment moment in history. No one is going to take this “how it works” bull **** anymore. Let me tell you “how it works” this time, buster. If the GOPe and your Cruz operatives et all disenfranchise the will and majority votes of the base in this year when we say we have had ENOUGH of “how it works”, it will be a landslide victory for the Democrats.

That is how it works. You can take your “how it works” and stick it where the sun don’t shine, because we have had ENOUGH of yours and the GOPe “how it works”. It doesn’t work. Period. It is disgusting, and how it works this time is if the GOPe is enabled to do this to us by Cruz et all, the entire thing is going to be thrown into hell like you have never seen. That is how it works. I don’t like Castro regimes, GOPe or otherwise.

I LIVE in New York and I’m voting for Cruz.

And New York is not a winner take all state. Delegates are awarded proportionately.

Maine is a bit east of the Mississippi. In fact it’s further east than any state Trump has or can win.
