16 Democrat AGs Begin Inquisition Against ‘Climate Change Disbelievers’
The Daily Signal ^ | 4/4/16 | Hans von Spakovsky. Cole Wintheiser

Beginning in 1478, the Spanish Inquisition systematically silenced any citizen who held views that did not align with the king’s. Using the powerful arm of the government, the grand inquisitor, Tomas de Torquemada, and his henchmen sought out all those who held religious, scientific, or moral views that conflicted with the monarch’s, punishing the “heretics” with jail sentences, property confiscation, fines, and in severe cases, torture, and execution.

One of the lasting results of the Spanish Inquisition was a stifling of speech, thought, and scientific debate throughout Spain. By treating one set of scientific views as absolute, infallible, and above critique, Spain silenced many brilliant individuals and stopped the development of new ideas and technological innovations. Spain became a scientific backwater.

As an old adage says, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. So we now have a new inquisition underway in America in the 21st century—something that would have seemed unimaginable not too long ago.

Treating climate change as an absolute, unassailable fact, instead of what it is— an unproven, controversial scientific theory, a group of state attorneys general have announced that they will be targeting any companies that challenge the catastrophic climate change religion.

Speaking at a press conference on March 29, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said “The bottom line is simple: Climate change is real.” He went on to say that if companies are committing fraud by “lying” about the dangers of climate change, they will “pursue them to the fullest extent of the law.”

We’ve been saying for a long time that belief in AGW is a religion.

Time for us to demand separation of Church and state.

Never been a truer idiot.

"Climate change is real.” He went on to say that if companies are committing fraud by “lying” about the dangers of climate change, they will “pursue them to the fullest extent of the law.”

There are two major misstatements here. First, it has not been established to a certainty that human activity is changing the climate and second, even if it were proven true there is no scientific consensus that the types of small temperature changes they are claiming would be an overall "danger" rather than a benefit.

I agree, actually.

If we put on our history glasses, we found that the church got suckered into a bastardized arrangement with the state only a few hundred years into its existence. We know today that it’s stupid (who wants the DMV running their church, not to mention pagan influences?) but some of our cultural assumptions still reflect that old paradigm.

A more-secularized state might be an excellent idea as in part of a picture in which we expect less out of the state, and more out of the church. The state church was a trip that got all kinds of garbage going with a religious fervor.

Well, trying to find someone who’s heard nothing about it would be a significant challenge.

And no, we aren’t “DOOOOMED.” What we have is a problem in which we have been conned by hell into thinking we are “DOOOOMED.” And so we really don’t bother to fight for goodness, saying what’s the use.

AGW “science” is a farce. If science was as honest as it used to be in the days of Michael Faraday, it would confess a complete inability to prognosticate what it has been asked to prognosticate. Too many variables; too few equations.

These AG’s know what they are doing. They know the average corporation would rather run up the white flag and roll over than spend money fighting them in court. Quarterly bonuses, you know.

All “DENIERS are to be sent to re-education camps in the vast American NorthWestern forested areas. Beside class room time they will work felling the vast forests, which will be converted to lumber for the use of “BOTH”.
“BOTH”, the Bureau Of The Homeless, will oversee the building of adequate housing for the nations downtrodden homeless millions. The construction of this FREE housing will jump start an economic revival of the country as a whole.
Who could argue against such a humanitarian program?
(PLEASE don’t agree with this post—PLEASE)

As you say, Discovery would be quite enlightening.

To go a step further, could be this be Official Oppression Under Color of Law to deny persons and/or companies of constitutional rights and thus subject the attorneys general and other supporting officials to legal liability as individuals without their shield of sovereign immunity? I pose this as a question as I do not know the answer.

This is the way of fringe lunatic liberal government officials and other liberals.
When anyone disagrees with the party line, then they must be silenced by every means possible. When that does not work, then the opposition must be destroyed. That’s a core liberal tactic.
