Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.
The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump's chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.
The New York businessman easily won last month's Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz's 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state's delegates. That's nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they're tied are to him on the first ballot.
But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grassroots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He's recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

Cruz is a disgusting corrupt crony politician and part of disenfrachisement of the votes of the base, a GOPe hack who sounds like Mr. Haney of Green Acres while doing his sales antic and “Stop Trump!” routine, anyone who is part of this is also an everlasting disgrace.
That's exactly what's going on. Trump with his 37% of the vote may not get a majority of delegates. So if that happens, we get a runoff with GOPe biased rules and delegates voting.
And Ted Cruz, who didn't create the unfair rules BTW, is not sitting around crying about how unfair the rules are. Instead he is working hard within the rules, to beat the GOPe, to beat Trump and to get a majority of delegates, to give us a conservative nominee.
Trump isn't doing the work and he isn't all that conservative.
Trump will not lose, he will quit when his losing becomes obvious.
And how much money did Ted give to our political enemies?

That's a good one again. Really rhymes. But - you still have no rebuttal, and you won't -for that cloud hangin' over his head. It'll always be there.
Bump for post #266.
The vote was to bind delegates at a party convention. They are being bound. But if someone doesn't get a majority on the first vote it should be obvious that some delegates have to change votes. That's not taking away someone's vote, that's what this process is about. It's just not what typically happens in recent memory.
But the whole thing about people voting in a primary for a party's presidential candidate is new. There's no obligation for any party to hold votes to pick their candidate, and they generally didn't until just a few decades ago. You don't have a right to vote in a party primary at all.
Of course, even in the general election, there's no right to vote for President. Constitutionally, each state legislature could choose to assign their electoral votes as they wish. They are just choosing to hold elections for that purpose.
Under the original constitution the only office for which you got a direct vote was for your representative in the House. Senators and Presidents were chosen by your representative in the state governments.
Ineligible.
Interloper.
And as the last few weeks have shown.
INCOMPETENT.
Doc Ben was wrong about his diagnoses of two Donny's.
What we have here is a hugh full blown case of SYBIL.
SYBIL I SAY.
heh.

What Steal? Trump Freepernation has long proclaimed Trump would never have a problem with 1237 delegates
The head of the RNC says we Trump voters will get over it...He said also,' besides Trump voter are undocumented Republicans anyway'...What a scumbag...
Your Establishment Rat buddies are trying to steal Delegates in States Trump won (Louisianan, Tennessee and Arizona).
You need to quit thinkin', you're going to hurt yourself...Oh, I see you already have...
Ineligibility is a matter of law.
“Interloper” - good GOP are BUMS.
Well that's obviously a lie...All this campaigning and millions of people voting and it's meaningless...That's not part of a process...That's part of a sham...If these local elite clubs in each state are going to elect the candidate, the voters could stay home...The candidates don't even have to have campaigns...The televised debates are a meaningless show...The entire thing is a ruse...
I am trying to articulate the rationale Cruz backers have for being so adamant that he is the only candidate deserving of being called republican
Its all about ideology, right?
I will.
I consider this to be more an expression of organizational competence than a “trick” unless you know of some violation of extant rules. If Cruz campaign knew and understood these pre-existing rules and worked them to their advantage, why did not Donald “The Smartest Deal-maker Ever” Trump and that cohort of the best people possible that he surrounds himself with (although admittedly he tends to ignore them) know and do the same?
As for Trump going third party, there is a lot of this painfully ill-informed opinion floating around. IIRC there are more than a dozen states with so-called “Sore Loser Laws” which disallow any party candidate to run as an independent in the general election. In many (most?) such jurisdictions even write-in votes cannot prevail as they will count only towards legally legitimate candidates. If the law disallows Trump to run as an independent, the write-in votes for him would simply be discarded.
Trump supporters’ proposition that even should he fall short of the 1237 delegates before the convention he should be proclaimed the candidate as something owed him is a bit like the visiting team declaring the baseball game over after the top of the 9th if they are leading. If the convention arrives with no one having the necessary 1237 delegates, I would think the supporters of Donald “The Smartest Deal-maker Ever” Trump would be ecstatic since a contested convention is all about deal-making.
Since you’re angling for a fight, Apple, I’ll join in because I don’t think you can prove unequivocally Cruz had even 1 affair. And doing a quick search I don’t even see one article about an std? Where the hell did that come from?
