We have barely any job postings in my area, and they are McJobs that require availability 24/7 (though you’ll only work part-time hours each week). Of course, if we turned off the immigration spigot we’d have more jobs available, but neither party will do that.

I worked in a vineyard once to pay my house payment for $9 a hour. It was December in northern lower Michigan. Whether it was sleet or snow I went out to trim grape vines.

I also worked in a chestnut or hard just before that. If you have ever collected chestnuts off the ground you know how much fun that is.

Both these were done when I was around 40.

I also worked on a roof with illegal aliens once as well when I was 39.

I did not want to do it but I needed to pay my bills. I got nothing from the government to help me. As a matter of fact they took $1800 from me by claiming my income twice for the same year.

The point is till people realize that they are their way out of poverty and not the government they will be stuck in poverty to be used by the government for their whims.

Flipping burgers at micky d’s and working at Walmart should be looked upon as respectable jobs because they contribute to society as a whole. Sure they suck but they are just temporary jobs. People have lost sight of the fact that someone working is better than someone stealing so e one elses labor.

People on food stamps who are able to work and have no one that they support should be working period.
