Trump to NYT on Heidi Cruz retweet: 'Yeah, it was a mistake'
CNN ^ | April 2, 2016 | Eugene Scott

Donald Trump admitted to The New York Times on Saturday that retweeting an unflattering photo of Heidi Cruz was a mistake and that he would not do it again if given the opportunity.

"Yeah, it was a mistake," he told columnist Maureen Dowd. "If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have sent it."

Dowd was asking about an incident last month in which Trump retweeted a picture of Cruz, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's wife, during a spat involving a nude photo of Trump's wife, Melania, that was circulated by an anti-Trump super PAC.

It’s pretty bad when the Donald is less of an asshole than his supporters.

Will Ted Cruz apologize for his Super PACs dirty tricks?

Do you evidence that Cruz and this super PAC coordinated? Because that is a crime and you should immediately bring it to the attention of the FEC.

I'm guessing the answer is no, just like your Trumpking has no evidence.

And duh, ofcourse he shouldn't have retweeted that picture. It just builds into the whole "war on women" narrative. Could Trump be anymore unpopular with woman than 70% disapproval? I'm thinking yes, give him time - the man rage tweets and is prone to temper tantrums, he can't help himself.

SuperPACs are, by definition and law, not part of the campaign

I've got this really nice bridge in Brooklyn, the price is right...

The low life P.O.S. lyin’, cheating and stealing Cruz started this by attacking Trump’s wife and EVERYONE knows that.

Only FILTHY RATS like the New York Slimes would TWIST... the news in order to make it look like Trump started this.

If you have proof otherwise, I urge you to contact the Federal Election Commission.

Of all the unconstitutional activities (and there are many), the notion that FedGov can and should exercise sovereign authority over the way their replacements are chosen is the worst.

Why is this considered an apology? Did he call Heidi Cruz?

If you look past Hamhead, Bush Clan, Romney and a few others....who really is the GOP?

Everyday it seems more possible that foreigner power brokers are truly running our country through proxies like the GOP and the DEMS.

If the GOP rips the American voters out of this election by overriding the will of the people, then I will have zero doubt that’s exactly what has happened to our country.

America...why are we allowing a handful of power-merchants to steal our country, right in front of our noses?

“How many other pols would confess that error? “

“Carson — whose campaign and demeanor were polar opposites of Trump’s in many ways — played the role Friday of vouching for Trump’s character and integrity. He explained that there were “two Donald Trumps” — one that the public sees, and another “

Carson also assured us that Trump does not really believe all that he tells the public.

Trump “apologized” after a week of battering and after being caught with his pants down when every major news outlet confirmed that Cruz had NOTHING to do with the ad. Indeed, it would have illegal if in any form or manner the Cruz campaign coordinate this ad. Trumpkins still can’t seem to digest this essential fact even if it now appears to sink into Trump himself.

So, any candidate can reap the positives of their supporting SuperPac but the negatives of said Super Pac are someone else’s responsibility?
