Is the Trump campaign worried about the women vote? Never autoplay videos

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump claimed Thursday night that his controversial remarks about punishing women who have abortions were taken out of context.

The latest furor to surround Trump's campaign began when he told Matthews there should be "some form of punishment" for women who get abortions if the procedure is outlawed, later adding that what the punishment would be would have to be determined.

The real estate mogul claimed to “O’Reilly Factor” guest host Eric Bolling that MSNBC, which broadcast the Wisconsin town hall during which Trump made the remarks, had edited out parts of the discussion with commentator Chris Matthews.

"This was a long, convoluted question," Trump said. "This was a long discussion and they just cut it out."

MSNBC responded later Thursday with a statement saying: "The town hall interview with Donald Trump was taped in advance and then aired in its entirety. Absolutely no part of the exchange between Trump and Chris Matthews was edited out."

Trump acknowledged later in the interview that, "It could be that I misspoke."

I personally don’t care that he misspoke. The problem is that misspeaking is something that can be used effectively against him in the general election campaign, even if you think informed, fair-minded people would give him a pass.

Want Ad: Baby killer wanted.

Of course they're both guilty.

Perhaps if punishment were applied to both, we could get rid of this immoral behavior.

Every prolife candidate is asked questions meant to create answers that can be taken out of context and used against him. The media try to make pro life candidates look bad.

Every pro abortion candidate is protected by the media. Planned Parenthood is protected by the media.

This shows Trump is for real. If not they would not have tried to twist his words to make him look bad.

The media only goes after the good people. They protect Obama, Clinton, Soros etc.

He does most of his interviews on liberal networks. They are promoting his candidacy because Trump is the weakest against Clinton.

Trumps handlers, who determine what Trump’s positions are, don’t even agree with you.

They’ve had to clean up a lot of Donnie’s messes this week.

So was it take out of context or did he misspeak? Or was it both just for his convenience to try and confuse everyone?

The context is that he was asked a hypothetical, and he responded to a hypothetical.

I liked his initial, logical response.

I didn’t care for his walked back, conservative correct answer.

If you were asked ‘if something is illegal, should a person committing the crime be punished?’, what would you answer? He is not politically correct. He was responding to a question about a person breaking a law. How many other laws does anyone think should be ignored?? Oh wait, we should ask the Obama Admin that one.........

Trump must’ve caught some flak from the homefront on this... his history of admitting to error is scant.

“This shows Trump is for real...”

No, what would have shown “Trump is for real” would have been to stand by his statement.

This shows just the opposite.

If you ask a hypothetical question what’s wrong with getting a hypothetical answer? People making a big deal out of this are idiots. Since when do conservatives go all out to agree with ‘Hissy Tingle Up My Leg Chrissy’? I tell you when, since the Trump haters grasp at any straw they can to roll about the floor kicking and screaming.............. ‘WAAAAA.....WAAAAAA..now all you people HAVE to HATE TRUMP NOW!!!!!’

The way I see it, he was asked “what if” it was illegal for women to HAVE abortion, and NOT “what if” it was illegal for doctors to do abortions.

Under the first “what if” question, then of course it’s the woman who should be punished, which was the question that Matthews asked.

How about this ... “what if” we had laws, but no punishments for any crimes?
