Guest Post: Trump and the True “Victims” of Abortion
TheGatewayPundit ^ | Mar 31, 2016 | Dr. Mark Christian

Donald Trump has ignited another firestorm, and this time, he should have stood his ground. His interview with Chris Matthews yesterday on MSNBC has people on both sides of the abortion issue condemning, cursing, and distancing themselves from Trump’s point of view. I contend, however, that Trump’s thoughts on the matter opened up a discussion that is long overdue.

Trump said that if abortion became illegal (which isn’t likely anytime soon), he felt it would be only right for there to be a punishment of some kind for the women who seek out and receive illegal abortions. His campaign quickly backtracked and said that the pregnant women (whom they described as victims) should not be punished, but rather only the doctors who perform the illegal procedures.

As an OB/GYN, the son of an OB/GYN, from Egypt, I have a very different take on the matter. I know that the unborn child is alive, innocent, and deserving of life from the very day of conception.

... When I first came to America, I spent seven years working in a pro-life clinic serving young girls and women facing unplanned pregnancies. I saw first-hand the difficulties these women face. But I believe Trump’s statement should be an opportunity for us to begin a real dialogue about abortion in this country and whether we actually believe that unborn lives matter.

... I firmly believe that those who call themselves Pro-Life, yet still use the lives of the innocent unborn as a political chess pieces, or tragic vehicles for fundraising, without resolving to adequately deal with the overarching circumstances that surround the issue, share deeply in the guilt of those who bring about the deaths of innocent human life.

Ironic if this helps Trump shore up the pro life vote. The feminazis were not voting for him anyway. Cruz comes off as the pro abortionist in this one.

No matter what, you have to give it to Trump. His no scripted answers sometimes put his foot in his mouth, sometimes not, but for sure they open dialogue that has been long long overdue (on many issues).

We are ALL truly sinful. Thinking that you are not is the sin of pride.

Hear, hear!

When we’re honest with ourselves, we also know that the more we pretend (for whatever the reasoning may be) mothers who kill theirs and the father’s child are somehow innocent and don’t deserve justice, the more culture tends to become desensitized to murder in general. It becomes, as we live in now, a culture of death.

We teach children at a very young age that life is disposable and that if a life is too inconvenient, too costly, too difficult to nurture, too probable to live in poverty, one too many a person on earth, too environmentally damaging, or simply just too unwanted for any reason at all and we do mean any...just kill it off and you don’t even have to have your parents permission and the expense is covered...all is good, go and celebrate. No age too young.

What do we end up with, in our Culture of Death so eagerly taught to our children at such a young age? These evils being commonplace and some even popular. Just as is evidenced in our current societies: abortion forced and on demand (4.1 Billion murdered unborn in just 36 years - no proportionate evil in all of history); infanticide; eugenics; sterilization; suicide; assisted suicide; euthanasia; and human cloning.

Not that morality should be non-existent in any part of humanity, but it is quite telling how many in the Republican party have abandoned the social conservative issues. So much so, that they will align themselves with Leftists to attack anyone who dares be Pro-Life. This is proof that the Culture of Death resides in all of society and has has no political or even religious boundaries, only a moral boundary of which is over-shadowed by the indoctrination instilled so early in most people’s lives.

Trump had to walk it back!
I’m as prolife as the day is long, but the MSM were gleefully cutting him to ribbons over this.

Get him in and give him time!
He’s on the right track!
Sometimes we have to choose our battles!!

Do you realize your words are as hateful and slanderous toward him?.....
....just as you accuse him of doing.

Your statements have been discussed and refuted many times, but no answer I give will satiate you...
You will keep spewing the same ole same ole

If I were you, I would be very careful with your choice of words in negating what God may be doing.
.....or trying to shame Christians who don’t agree with you.
You are on a slippery path!

He just had a beautiful grandchild a few days before. I think it was stupid for Matthews to even bring this up to someone who’s daughter just give birth. If he said anything other than what he did he would have come off as quite a jerk.

I am shocked at the so-called pro-lifers who want to condemn Trump for his answer. Woman are not fragile creatures who are not to be held accountable for our actions. I’m not talking about the young girl who may be pressured into it by her parents or boyfriend.

If you like Cruz’s answer and Kasich’s answer that women are not responsible then that’s your opinion and we will never get rid of abortion.

Your post is so judgmental it is ridiculous. I found Trump’s first statement refreshing. I already said he should not have changed his first statement. So I am not following him blindly. I however found the other candidates statement on abortion to be shocking. I never realized that the pro-life movement did not blame the woman who has her child killed.

Yes, I have much sympathy for any woman who is in the predicament of an unwanted baby. I was in the process of offering to adopt a friend’s baby when I found out she already had the abortion. I never told her that I had asked my husband if we could adopt her baby when she had it. I didn’t want her to feel worse than she already did. But this was a grown woman, not a child. If abortion was illegal, I doubt she would have had the abortion.

Trump should have never allowed handlers to get him to change his original thoughts. He should have clarified to say all who are involved in procuring an abortion and participating it will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. What he said was right and to hell with Fox News and the rest of liberal networks for not reporting what he really said. Let Canuck Ted give a woman a hug and tell her everything’s OK right after she’s murdered her own child.

Matthews is a sleaze ball of the first degree. Another so-called “Catholic” that tells his church to go straight to hell. He knows exactly what the Church teaches on abortion and that is no abortion is justified. But Matthews is like the majority of the cafeteria Catholics in this country and sees nothing wrong with a woman murdering her own child, conceived in the image of God and sees nothing wrong in two men or two women “getting married”. Matthews long ago forfeited the right to even call himself a Catholic with his support of abortion. Matthews and others like him that be the first to burn in hell in when their time on this earth is finished.

Thank you for your service!

I totally agree. Matthews was so in Trumps face , there isn’t even a soundbite they can use without Matthews yelling over Trump (which I think is a good thing).
