Members of the University of Georgia community continue to add their voices in opposition to House Bill 859, the campus carry bill that would allow guns on most parts of the UGA campus.
In the past week, parents of children enrolled in UGA daycare facilities and the College of Education faculty Senate have written letters to Gov. Nathan Deal urging him to veto it. Theyve joined the university administration, University Council, Franklin College faculty Senate and numerous individual students and faculty members.

In press conferences Deal has expressed concern with this.
The article also notes LEO is not pleased with this bill either.
He may cite those two reasons to veto the bill.
If he does, he should be removed from office ASAP by the legislature.
Not familiar with this particular bill, but here’s what happened at the University of Minnesota when Minnesota passed Shall Issue in 2003.
The University was allowed to ban handguns on campus. But only for students, faculty and employees.
Me? I’m good to go!

UGA's campus butts up against a housing project. I've noticed some gang graffiti on campus in various places.
But this bill would help the students at Ga Tech and GSU which are in downtown Atlanta. Easy pickins for the local bad guys.
U of M well known as a gun free zone. Every fall, like clockwork, the students return and the inner city blacks and Somalis head over to campus and rob and rape.
I believe the second Amendment gives you the right to carry anytime anywhere!!! We need to get the State Legislatures and congress behind this!!!!

Recall that armed students at Applachian law school prevented another 22 victim massacre like the one at Virgina Tech.
