I could lay out all the types that do it and their reasons, but it would be very boring and wouldn't solve a thing.
Let's just say that somebody has to occupy the lower part of the bell curve. Otherwise it wouldn't be a bell curve.
Or as I like to say, high-diving into the shallow end of the gene pool. :-P
