Amanda Carpenter, a top aide to Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), is leaving his office to return to conservative commentary under her own name. Carpenter announced the move Tuesday in a message to colleagues that was first reported by Roll Call. She will leave Cruz's office on July 5.

“Looking back, I’m especially grateful for the opportunity to create #MakeDCListen, help with Sen. Cruz’s Gridiron speech, and contribute to his flawless presidential launch — as well as countless other memorable tweets, jokes, lines, talkers, statements, op-eds, and other items. We’ve been in high gear since Day 1 and I’m very proud of what we’ve done together,” Carpenter wrote........... Carpenter joined Cruz's office as a speechwriter and senior communications adviser in early 2013, before being promoted to communications director in the fall.

The first comment written June 9, 2015 mentions several possible reasons for Carpenter's departure, including this one on June 9, 2015: "#5. Affair with Better-Dead-Than-Ted and Missus-Better-Dead-Than-Ted found out." Note that this comment precedes Donald Trump announcing his candidacy to run for the presidency.

Carpenter departed her lucrative position at $115K (2.3 times the norm) with all the benefits and perks of working for a US Senator. She became a consultant for hire to the media. This entailed providing piecemeal work, when work is available. The comment left at The Hill’s article above on the day she departed is rather telling. Her departure may have raised a few eyebrows in Washington DC circles. Obviously, these rumors, whether substantiated or not, have been circulating DC long before before Donald Trump became Cruz's main rival. It is outrageous for the Cruz campaign to be blame anyone other than his own staff or their circle of people in DC. Placing the blame on Donald Trump, Marco Rubio, or any other candidate has been an opportunistic classless way for Senator Cruz to deal with his own problem.

After this time in June, the rumors surrounding the Senator's mistress(es) continued to find its way out repeatedly in 2015. A sex-scandal between a journalist and a POTUS candidate and another between a lobbyist and POTUS candidate were originally detailed online in both August and December 2015. A celebrity gossip forum lays out all the many clues and its followers predict the cheater. On December 14, 2015 the forum winner had predicted the cheater to be The Honorable Senator Cruz. While these allegations do not prove innocence or guilt, they do prove one thing- Cruz's scandal has been circulating and increasing momentum for nearly a year.

From a strategical standpoint, Cruz has handled his allegations quite well for his campaign by blaming Trump. Once the negative chatter increased to the general political forum (mid March), TeamCruz swung into defense. First, they dropped a bomb or ~bombshell~Melania's photo, out in front of the scandal and created a huge splash to divert attention. With a "nod" and "wink" to an allied PAC, they created the shock and awe Cruz would desperately need. In addition, this trick angered Trump and earned Cruz bonus Utah votes. After Trump's ambiguous and mundane retort about "spilling the beans on Heidi," Cruz, twisted and dramatized 'the beans' warning. He reacted as if he was fending off a full frontal assault on each of Cruz's little women. Again, with the help of the media, Ted's feigned indignation was fairly effective, particularly among women.

With the release of the story of Cruz's alleged mistresses in the Enquirer, Cruz asserts that it is his opponent's fault. Cruz states the reason the National Enquirer published the scandal was to please Donald Trump. Rather than a clear unequivocal denial of those accusations about his actions, Cruz parses his words and again props up his wife Heidi and then Carly as an emotional defense against Trump. While, Cruz's accusation is patently false, it is still effective. Outside Washington and the political gossip circles, people have no clue as to where the scandal originated or if it's factual. Cruz has sold people another pack of his lies. The idea that Trump can create a scandal story where none once existed and then force its publication. This is absurd and inconsistent with Trump's style. Cruz insinuates that the scandal about himself is actually what Trump was referring to when he mentioned "spilling the beans on Heidi." Yet, Heidi is not the alleged adulterer dragged through the dirt of the National Enquirer. Ted Cruz has known for nearly a year that his entanglement scandal would arise, sooner or later. He is a needs to face his accusers, as a man, and not hide behind his women's skirts.

I guess the Lobster Pot of press coverage has gotten way too hot for comfort. Time to peddle her wares elsewhere.

Senate press secretaries earn less than $50k? That’s ridiculous. You need more money than that just to be homeless in DC.

Maybe it’s a 10 month old article, but, I’ll bet that others, like myself, have just read it for the first time. Just because it’s an old article, doesn’t make it irrelevant.

How does this compare to the date that the Cruz PAC gave $500,000 to the Carly PAC?

Seems like about the same timeframe ... and Carly’s campaign manager the silent Sarah Igur Flores has been identified as one of the alleged mistresses- has she been out on the campaign trail sitting with Rafael,Carly and Heidi?
