Republican Gov. Rick Scott on Wednesday signed a measure into law that, among other changes, drops the fees for Florida concealed weapon licenses.
The 80-page appropriations bill dealing with Commerce and Tourism for the state was crammed with everything from exempting water-related amusement rides to authorizing tax collector offices and passed the state legislature without a single nay vote in either chamber. Relating to concealed carry permits, it reduced the license fee from $70 to $60 on the initial application and from $60 to $50 for renewals.

$115 in Michigan.
I’m in Texas and I got the Florida CCW because it was much cheaper and Vets didn’t have to take any classroom instruction.
Now its even cheaper to renew, Yea!
Is it true that Florida will issue CC for people who live out of state? Or for those in states with similar reciprocity?
Yeah, I know. Pretty ridiculous.
I got one from Texas.

If they wanted to boost tourism they would allow unconditional reciprocity for all CCL holders in all 57 states.
Thank you.
As far as I’m concerned that’s the equivalent of a poll tax ie they’re charging you to exercise a right.
I think it was worth the extra $10 when Charles Bronson was signing them.

I suggest that, like here in Louisiana, that the
counties (parishes), issue CHL’s within them, limited
to those map lines.
The State-wide CHL, for some folks, is too costly,
and not useful, if their world of operation, exists
within their parish/county lines. Sure, if they go
beyond that, their piece goes in the trunk, until
they are in their resident parish.
I do this, because I don’t own a vehicle; my
world is within the parish; and my errands are
accomplished with a friend’s help.
Louisiana just made the State CHL costs
$500.00 for 5 years in one charge!
The parish charged me a whole $50.00, for the
initial fee, and every year since, a whole
$10.00 to renew it.
$65 in GA.

It's not as if it costs more to make a CHL good for the entire state than to make one that's only good in one parish.
Would a Driver's license be cheaper if it were only valid in your home parish?
You can't even pay for the "privilege" in places like New Jersey, New York City, and many parts of California.
LOL! Yup. That’s who signed my first one there.
BTT
I had to drop my FL non-resident permit because of their requirement that the paper fingerprint cards be done by police. The only agency nearby that still does paper cards for the general public will only do them for city residents or if you work in that city. Neither applies to me so unfortunately it became too much of a hassle to try to get the cards done. OTOH Arizona allows the cards to be done by any licensed fingerprint company. Easy and convenient.
ANY licensing or registration requirement is a violation of the second amendment. What confuses them about “shall not be infringed”?
