Worshipers feared for their lives during Easter Mass at St. Pat’s

Worshipers attending Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral got the scare of their lives when a band of unruly protesters disrupted the event.

“I thought they were going to blow themselves up,” worshiper Carol Forester, 50, confessed.

A group of six animal rights protesters abruptly leaped up from a pew in the middle of the service and shouted, “Easter is a time for love! No more shedding animal blood!” while holding up signs of animals pleading for their lives.

About 20 minutes into the Rev. Damian O’Connell’s noon Mass, protester Jacob Martin, 23, rose out of his seat in the center of the church and started to walk down the aisle while shouting into a bullhorn that “only the devil” could create “animals capable of love and joy just so humans can make them suffer and die.”

Martin, who is a former University of North Carolina student and identifies as a Christian, also had a camera strapped to his chest, which worshippers believed was an explosive.

“Ham is a big thing on Easter, so that’s why we decided to bring those voices to the public,” explained protester Raffaella Ciavatta, 31, who also organized a protest outside Chick-fil-A’s grand opening in New York City last fall.

The stupidity of doing this now is staggering. If anything ever happens to get someone hurt I hope these dimwits get something just.

Somehow these passionate “protesters” don’t disrupt Muslim services.

The Lamb of God who laid down His life, as an offering for the world’s sins, so others may Live.

Funny that; Christ died so these yahoos could interrupt the practice of their Faith.

Black Lives Mater, Anonymous, etc, have made loud, obnoxious protests fashionable for the weak minded. ‘If I am part of the crowd, I am popular’. These astroturf, gang-mentality protesters have encouraged all those who lack an identity to come forward and make fools of themselves. Bizarro America.

I've noticed loads of FB posts that anthropomorphize animals usually to demonstrate the animals possess human qualities of love, concern, altruism, etc. From Christian the lion to a kitten and and dog lolling on the floor. "They're friends!" No they're not.

We've all met these overly sentimental "animal people" and there's something wrong with them. They'd have no compunction about plugging a fellow human but can be reduced to tears at the sight of butcher's window.

Lock 'em up.

Has the Mayor also decriminalized disrupting a church service?

Shows their hatred for Christianity. This was done by insane adherents of the radical left - a group of mentally deficient individuals who earn their living by denying their human nature.

and identifies as a Christian

He is deluding himself and standing against God. The Almighty ordered Adam to eat animal flesh, He did the same to Peter when He ordered Peter to "get up, kill and eat." indicating that it was now allowed to eat pork and go to proclaim the good news to the Gentiles.

The Almighty ordered Adam to eat animal flesh...

Can you cite where that is in the Bible? Just curious. Someone told me that man did not eat meat until after the Flood.

I recall that the only commandment God gave Adam and Eve about food was not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And we know how that turned out.

Genesis Chapter 9 sure seems to imply that permission to eat meat was newly given to Noah.

No direct citation, merely exegesis. Adam and Eve were both given skins, meaning that animals died to provide them clothing so they were familiar with death of animals. Further, Abel raised flocks. Since sheep were no good as plow animals and they suck at typing, their primary purpose was food with a secondary use as clothing.
