So you would rather we all pretend, right? Tell Ted to quit blaming Trump for political reasons and I would be happy to drop it here and elsewhere.
Cruz has offered no proof that Trump was ever behind his problem.

"I get that they dont like T. Cruz, but basing a sex scandal article on an Enquirer article, and expecting people to believe it really out of line, to me! Good heavens!"
Enquirer broke the Lewinski Blue Dress story, John Edwards story and the Gary Hart/Donna Rice/Monkey Business story.
They have broken the biggest sex scandals in modern American political history. Nearly all of them.

I'm thinkin' Cruz is deflecting by trying to make the story about Trump. But, I DON'T KNOW. If the story is true ... then it would confirm that the attack on Melania was merely to provide cover to frame the NE story as a retaliation.

A politician can’t be easily sued by an opponent politician. But NE darn sure can! Where is Cruz’s umbrage against NE? Surely he knows that if he’s guilty he can’t make it go away by calling a few people names. I’ll KNOW he’s not guilty when I read about his $500 Million libel suit against NE.

I would doubt that.
If the story is true...there's nothing Cruz could possibly do besides stall for a few days. A week at most.
Accusing Trump of feeding the sleaze to Enquirer would not affect the macro impact of the story in the slightest.
In fact, IF Trump were involved in some way I doubt that would even warrant a footnote in the history books...if the story is found true.

The National Enquirer does not detonate one of these political Claymore mines unless it is 100% positive it can defend it.
Hart, Edwards, Billy and the Blue Dress, now Cruz and his floozies? They all have been absolutely accurate. They are too dangerous, otherwise.
Something to consider, during this weekend of Cruzbot screeching...

I notice that Trump & his campaign are trying (NOT very successfully) to put distance between themselves and this Sleasy & Failing attempt as character assassination. I guess Trump is getting considerable blowback considering the rapidity of the Trump retreat. Trump’s attempt to separate himself from it is, of course, made very difficult given Trump’s long-time friendship/association with David Pecker, the Enquirer’s CEO.
To: Mariner
I agree with you ... I’m just saying if the story is true, this was the Cruz campaigns way of getting in front of the story for some back cover.

Trump released his respond to Cruz ... and now he needs to just enjoy his weekend. If the story is true, by Monday Cruz will resign from both the race and the Senate.
If the story is false ... the campaign will go on.

Oh just go away. You've been on here for days defending cruz after he used nude pics of Trumps wife on campaign ads. Now your all offended thinking that Trump did cruz wrong. Take you phony outrage up with someone who cares, I don't give a crap.

Funny how the headline reads. Even IF, If, Donald Trump can somehow command the National Enquirer to print phony news stories then why isn’t Cruz dealing with it instead of blaming Trump? Why not DEMAND an apology and an immediate retraction from the paper? That would be the actions of an innocent man. The longer he doesn’t do this the more it looks like he thinks they have the goods on him.
