I get that the media has gotten the memo that Donald Trump is the greatest threat to civilization since NBC’s “The Slap,” but the controversy surrounding the Trump v Ted Cruz wife-dissing battle has revealed a stunning bit of tunnel vision, particularly among liberals. While everyone piles on Trump for retweeting an unflattering photo comparison of Heidi Cruz and Melania Trump, they’re giving Cruz and his SuperPAC a complete pass for what amounts to a political sexual assault on Melania Trump. Both attacks were ugly; I would submit that the explicitly sexual nature of the attack on Mrs. Trump is worse, but for the sake of argument, let’s call them even.
Consider this introduction to the flap by Chris Hayes on Thursday night’s All In, in which he takes great pains to note that the PAC that attacked Melania Trump has “no direct connection” to Ted Cruz, then delights in Cruz’s (admittedly awesome) refusal to say he won’t support Trump if he’s the nominee:
God bless Hallie Jackson for asking that followup, but another great question would have been why didn’t Ted Cruz immediately denounce the anti-Melania ad and demand that it be taken down? As for Hayes, he and the rest of the media are giving Cruz a benefit of the doubt that he has not earned. Sure, he’s not supposed to coordinate with SuperPACs, but this is the same guy who swore his campaign had nothing to do with spreading the rumor that Ben Carson had dropped out in Iowa, only to have voicemails to the contrary surface almost immediately. At a bare minimum, Cruz bears responsibility for not immediately coming out against the ad.

Because Cruz had nothing to do with the ad?
That would be my guess.
Good question.
End of lame story.
When engaged in political mud slinging, dislike for someone is all that matters to some. Facts be damned!
They were using it in Utah.
Advertisement for any Presidential Candidate has to to go through the Cruz campaign because it has could be very damaging, etc.. Thus, the Ads are very limited by what the Campaign approves. There is simply something this toxic just slipped by.
Who ever advised Cruz this was a good idea should be fired.
No, the super PAC is not allowed to coordinate with any campaign. That would be illegal.
Now, where was the picture that everyone is upset about taken?
Lying in court is also illegal, but of course we all know that lawyers never do that. ;)
So where was the picture in question taken?
I have no idea.
On Donald Trump’s private jet. So Mr. Trump is claiming to be upset that a picture that he sponsored was taken of his then-girlfriend on his own jet ... something he was very proud of in 2000.
So proud, he talked openly of it with Howard Stern on his national radio show.
Is Mr. Trump now ashamed of his wife?
Personally I never suggested he did. I have seen however that the Enquirer is very much on Trump's side and is not generally a reliable source (yes, I know they've had exceptions).
Well, Trump should've just ignored the whole incident. But that doesn't absolve Cruz of responsibility for it.
He really needs to come out against the enquirer. Why he didn’t do that is beyond me. He is doing the same kind of stuff that destroyed Rubio. Why?
Mr. Cruz is not responsible for the ad. He cannot talk to the super PAC per federal law. He did not approve or coordinate or have anything do do with this ad.
Your assertion that he is responsible is false. Unless you are willing to hold Mr. Trump to the same standard. Do you want to do that?
Cruz's political surrogate, Andrea McWilliams, on March 8, 2016 began Cruz's Offensive. Go to 4:27 mark. Cruz/McWilliams claim that a 1st Lady should not be foreign born and that she posed nude.
Not foreign born, hello Dumbass Cruz is foreign born. I really am beginning to hate Cruz.

And lawyers can't lie in court either. ;) LOL.
Also, please provide a quote where Cruz categorically condemns the ad.
End of lame story.
Not for the trolls. Just like libs; facts don't matter.
Good question.
Because Trump doesn’t want to make Teddy Bear Border Cruz cry??
The photos of Melania in the British GQ seemed Casino Royale themed to me. I think that is when that James Bond movie came out, or was being filmed.
So Melania was doing a promo for Casino Royale? I didn’t realize she was in that movie.
