When people say the National Enquirer has a good track record of doing investigation and uncovering evidence, it doesn’t apply here.
Because the National Enquirer isn’t saying that they independently found anything at all.
It doesn’t say they independently confirmed anything at all.
In communicating how strong their story was, they chose to make the weakest case. This gives them maximum protection legally also. They can run the story and if it doesn’t work out they can say their source just lied to them.
ONLY A SINGLE SOURCE is cited for all of the allegations.
It is an unnamed source who claims that unnamed detectives are investigating five unnamed women.
It’s like “Oh, look at the rumor” then.
