May I, as a Ted Cruz supporter, just step in here for a minute and explain why Donald Trump, as Republican nominee for president, will win a landslide election victory over Hillary and actually be a welcome alternative to the kind of leadership America has experienced for the last 27 years?
I don’t care what the national polls say now about a matchup between Trump and Clinton. I am old enough to remember vividly what the polls between Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter looked like in 1980 at this point in the presidential campaign. They suggested Reagan had no chance to win. He trailed Carter in the polls by double digits. He went on to carry 44 states that year, including New York and California – 49 states four years later.
That is very close to what I expect Trump to do to Hillary if he becomes the nominee.
Why do I think that?

He has made that unmistakably clear with his books and speeches. Much of his support derives from people rightly outraged at the deal making in Washington, yet to the extent that his candidacy has any substance it is based on his commitment to making deals. But to them that is okay because he is pure and skilled at making deals.
The primary difference between me and many Trump supporters is that they believe his political posturing but disbelieve his self descriptions, while I believe his personal revelations and disbelieve his campaign rhetoric.

Cruz supporting SuperPac comes out with semi nude pics of Melania from a photo shoot. Trump gets mad at Ted on twitter and threatens to “spill the beans” on Heidi. Ted gets mad and calls Trump a coward.
Next day NE breaks the story that Ted can’t keep it in his pants.
This is political intrigue like I’ve never seen it before.
Could it be that Trump, knowing that he was going to face opposition from the establishment has been working quietly in the background finding dirt on all the power players that are trying to screw him over and has something to hold over their heads?
I don’t know, but so far it’s looked like Trump is the chess master playing with the kids that think they’re the checkers champs.

What is really curious to me is why people who seem to be 100 percent certain that Mr. Trump has the nomination clinched would spend so much time and effort trying to alienate those voters they will need in the general election. If you have it won, why not make friends instead of enemies.
