That’s the thing. The Enquirer is risking a huge lawsuit from Cruz and the women, although the women weren’t mentioned by name. Their pictures were posted with their eyes covered. Is that something they would risk without solid proof? I wouldn’t think so. The fact that they got the Edwards thing right does give me some pause.
Yeh, ask Gary Hart how that thing worked out for him
The NE also has to be very aware of the Hogan-Gawker judgement last week. They aren’t stupid, so you’d think they have evidence to back this up.
Also—this story has been rumored for a while. Breitbart apparently had it, but the claim is Ben Shapiro spiked the story before he quit over the Fields incident. As an aside—I’m in DC and I heard the Katrina Pierson rumor from some political friends months ago (and my stupid self spent weeks thinking Ted was fooling around with the singer from the B-52s).
The Enquirer is risking a huge lawsuit from ... the women
Ding, ding, ding. Katrina Pierson and Amanda Carpenter are tough hombres - If this is bullcrap they’ll be the first to say so - they can go on any TV they want in five seconds.
The obscured photos might also be a “tease.” As in they’re waiting for the predictable denials after which point they’ll slowly start putting their cards on the table.
NE is in it for the money. If they have something, they’re going to want to sell more than one edition in revealing it. IIRC, that’s what they did with the John Edwards story.
