ST. LOUIS
The people who spend two bucks for chili at the Courtesy Diner at Laclede Station Road cant fathom why anyone would pay Hillary Clinton $225,000 to make a speech.
Nor can they understand why the U.S. Senate is taking a 17-day break for Easter after spending much of their time last week fuming over the Supreme Court vacancy. Somehow, people all over America are saying loudly and clearly this election year, Washington and its enablers the media, the political pros and Wall Street dont understand us.
Thats why, all over this slice of middle America, exasperated people got up before dawn on a cold, 37-degree morning recently to spend four hours in a line so long that from its end people couldnt even see the Peabody Opera House, where they would hear Donald Trump. And it wasnt just Trump. In the next two days, other folks nearby lined up to hear the outsider talk from Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Bernie Sanders, Ind.-Vt.
They share the same grievance. In 2016 America, the deepest divide is not between Democrats and Republicans. Its not even between conservatives and liberals. Its between Us and Them the people versus The Establishment.

So did this guy have the $2 chili?....
Or hear the $225,000 Hillary speech?...
It’s perfectly normal. At all levels of government in both parties.
Oh yeah, Wendy’s is good chili. I forgot about them.
The problem is the Establishment isn’t ‘elite’ they’re ordinary people who are stealing from taxpayers.

Ask Kerry and Tereza Heinz.
Thank you, I’m going to try this recipe real soon. It sounds delicious :-)!
BTW, the “Ordinary” people you reference are not “ordinary”.
They are Bureaucrats that discard common sense for a set of rules that must be followed.
They don’t “turn right on red” in the middle of the night if there’s a sign to follow even if the road is all clear and completely safe.
They are “Busy bodies” that complain about people that don’t fall in line or do things that they find offensive.
So they write rules for the rest of us to live by.
your recipe sounds delicious (but mushrooms are often more expensive than hamburger, and that’s saying a LOT!)
The beef cooks down. The mushrooms do initially but swell up once in the chili sauce in the pot.
I see. you’re using the mushrooms like a better-tasting kind of Hamburger Helper or sawdust, a volume-extender.
Good thinking!
your recipe sounds good, too! thanks
He’s a Cruz early voter who just figured out that he should have voted for Trump.
I love Chili but frankly i’m happy with a can of Hormel Hot Chili w/beans with 3 or 4 slices of bread and butter.....
I’ve recognized the Hormel taste and texture in more than a few restaurants i’ve eaten chili in, they probably use the stuff as well.
If so I apologize if I came off... truth is the has been hard on both sides.. and I can understand hesitations on both sides
But Beck over the top hypocritical hyperbole pisses me off to no end... I can understand lashing out in the Heat of the Moment... but Beck been a methodical demagogue on the subject of Trump
I know when dam well Trumps no saint... but I alse know damn well he’s not Hitler or the Antichrist or someone a Christian can’t vote for
Beck violates its own rules ....some years back Beck saying if your God is telling you to kill or attack someone viciously like that then it’s not really God speaking to you...Now Beck is to tell us that God is telling him to attack Trump this viciously as he is Hitler that Trump is unfit to be around proper Christians... Beck never even went after Obama this viciously
and then what is funny this the same Beck, trying to speak for Christianity ...that same Beck just last called anybody that was against gay marriage a fascist... so by Beck own words the majority of Christians are Fascist
I know I might get mean spirited but I don’t claim God is telling me to get that mean spirited
Good points.
Trump’s exposing the nightmare Washington’s has turned into ... self serving idiots are running the place.
Understand this.
Trump, admittedly, has taken advantage of the system that is in place. I will never blame or attack a "Capitalist" for exploring and leveraging what they can achieve within the rules.
The "Self-Serving" in our Government are not idiots. They know exactly what they are doing and have been able to create/leverage a massive structure of Bureaucrats/tools or "Useful Idiots" to advance their self serving aims.
It's a racket that makes the Mafia pale in comparison.
The size and reach of our Federal Government IS the problem and I don't see any Presidential Candidate that can do anything about this.
Certainly not Trump.
