Remember How Trump Threatened Ford? Well Look at the HUGE Announcement They Just Made

When the Ford Motor Co. decided to move jobs south to Mexico so that it could pay its workers less, billionaire businessman Donald Trump was furious. He made trade inequalities and Ford’s betrayal of American workers a central issue of his campaign.

And, without his even being in the Oval Office, it worked.

In an interview with CNBC, Ford CEO Mark Fields said that the automaker would be “here to stay.” He also said he had outlined his company’s plans in a letter to Trump.

The burgeoning welfare state is the current price we pay for globalism. Total loss of national sovereignty to follow.

Was George Washington telling American companies what to when he signed the Tariff Act of 1789?

Of course not. Because he signed a law, passed by both houses of Congress.

I may disagree with what Washington did, but I would never argue that it was a usurpation of power.

Whether responding by raising prices or cutting profits, Ford was going to move to Mexico for some economic reason. Just because the effect of staying in America isn’t as obvious as a group of people having to move to another job, this does not mean that there will not be a cost extracted for staying. Maybe “the price of American made trucks won’t be affected that much”, but the principle is the same. A government official (or, rather someone trying to be a government official) threatens a business, and the business complies not because it is a good idea, but because it is a threat from the government.

I would rather not go down that path.

There is still the legislative and judicial branches that will continue the debate.

As for congress, the "wall" has already passed and is funded. As for the judicial branch, you think defending our borders is unconstitutional?

“I am frankly disgusted with the whole country, voting for Obama twice and leaving Hillary even in contention, no less giving sanders a lead. leaves me lost”

Know what you mean.

I think there is less real support than there appears to be. Between propaganda from the evilstream misleadia and election fraud, a fifth of the country makes itself look like half.

Polls taken during the primaries when tbere are still 5 candidates are far less accurate and more easily manipulated than a poll between two candidates that actually are the nominees.

How many Cruz voters and Kasich voters and Bernie voters are going to say Trump can beat Hillary? It’s a fake poll!

College football uses polls for rankings but for some reason they still bother to play the games.

Or we could continue to subsidize foreign exploiters.

How is allowing companies the freedom to move goods as they choose without government intervention subsidizing foreign exploiters?

Yes, we know. But we also know the end results.

We should not cut our own throats the altar of free trade.

Hey “Brilliant.” Do you own and run a business that competes internationally?

“Now, what is the form of government where the means of production stay in private hands, but they have to do what the government orders them to do?”

A government that imposes Nafta, TPP, and EPA on private enterprise. (And you thought I was going to say fascism).

Eventually the jobs that remain will be automated, though.

I don't think there are many companies in America the world which don't devote a lot of c-suite discussion time to "how can we reduce labor costs??"

Whether by offshoring, robotics or just streamlining the workflow, it's going to happen. The companies owe it to their shareholders.

People who have never run a business don’t have a clue as to the complexities imposed by not only our own government but foreign governments. Trump has repeatedly mentioned the words, “fair trade.” He has cited examples of unfair trade in dealing with Japan and China. The bird brains who haven’t a clue should ask themselves where America’s steel companies are. They’re GONE.

I'm not up on these trade agreements, but how are they imposed on private enterprise? I thought they were removing restrictions on what could be imported or exported, rather than placing restrictions on trade. Am I incorrect?

Polls this far out mean nothing. Keep in mind that at one point Carter was up 10-15 points over Reagan....

Polls are for sheep

...”This is not 1980, when the country was still much more conservative.

And there’s no Iran crisis to give a 20 point lift.

I support Trump over Ted.

The fact is he is down anywhere from 6 to 18 points in the polls against Hillary.

Because the media is much worse than 1980, when gay marriage and transgenderism and other insanity were still taboo and the generations since are pathetic, in the majority.

And Sanders does even better against him.

20 plus million vote in the republican primaries.

the generals are 100 plus million and someone better dig up a strategy to fight the media.

I am frankly disgusted with the whole country, voting for Obama twice and leaving Hillary even in contention, no less giving sanders a lead.

leaves me lost.”...

The fight for the general election really has not begun yet and, truly, the fate of the nation, as Rush pointed out today rests in the hands of the FBI Director and the Attorney General, as they decide whether to prosecute Hillary for those classified emails. Rush pointed out that if the rule of law is lost in the US and the ruling political class decides it can break the law at will and get away with it, then the nation can no longer function. It will fold. The rule of law is the foundation of our system and must be adhered to. Sickening, isn’t it?
