History is full of examples of religious leaders of all faiths reveling in moral depravity. Religious leaders have actively condoned, sponsored and actively participated in genocide and murder. They have sexually molested church members of all ages. They are involved in adulterous affairs. Religious leaders lie as frequently as other members of society.
Based on the historical record, it is naive to ascribe superior morality to a human being possessing a leadership title in a religious organization.

That said, in 2012, I personally thought that although Romney was not a great presidential candidate, he was a decent person—had character and integrity.
Both of those perceptions have been proven wrong in the past 3 weeks. But the swipe he took at Trump’s wife was truly classless; and given fact that he and his wife were “in the hot seat” 4 years ago, I would not have expected this low-brow bad form!
