I had another freeper who told me that there is no hypocrisy to this as well.

“Let me encourage other members of the establishment: Keep supporting Donald Trump because every time you do it, what it is doing is telling conservatives all over the country is where you stand and who stands with you”.
- Ted Cruz, New Hampshire stump speech

It just comes to a point where some either are ignorant, stupid, or stubborn to admit what they are supporting.

Good. We’re on the same team then. We just like different quarterbacks at this point. But if yours is playing, I block for him too.

Newt knows what liars democrats are... and he knows their games. I don’t care who he sits on a couch with ... don’t give a damn about ‘tone’ either. Or PC crap.

Well he sat down with one of the biggest liars in politics and he did so in the cause of one of their biggest lies - Global Warming.

And again, many here didn’t care for that. If that doesn’t bother you... fine with me.

As long as I've been here I've expressed contempt for the silliness of Global Warming. And I've been here a long time.

GW as a crisis problem makes as much sense as feeling unicorns are a threat to the planet.

That said, if I saw Newt siting on a couch with a unicorn believer I wouldn't’ take him off my list of humans who have political insights...

It wasn’t so much with whom he was sitting - it was in an ad for Climate Change:

We don’t always see eye to eye, do we Newt?” Pelosi asks.

“No, but we do agree that our country must take action to address climate change,” Gingrich responds.

Pelosi then says, “We need cleaner forms of energy and we need them fast,” after which Gingrich calls on voters to “demand action from our leaders” in order to “spark the innovation we need.”

Now I’ll agree his ‘solutions’ wouldn’t be the same as Pelosi’s, but they would have been gov’t solutions to a problem than doesn’t exist - and has been proven not to exist. So either he believed it to be a problem or he believed that he thought more voters would support him if he said it was a problem. Either way, many here were more than disappointed - called him a sellout, not sure if ‘establishment’ was in use at the time - some of the comments at the time, mirror some comments now about others (from both sides). And yet many preferred him over Romney including me.

I’m not your son, son. Hopefully you don’t have any.

Finally - a statement from you based on actual facts! Now you need to get them right when you try to make political statements and things will be just right - kiddo.

PS - I have two sons and a daughter and all are successful and honest folk, hardworking folks who make their own way and don't have to tell fibs to try to get their points across.

If they were using FR on a regular basis, they would be making donations on a regular basis - you could do worse than to emulate them.....and act like the principles you say you believe in.....

I got a call from a Cruz fundraiser yesterday and told her why I no longer supported Cruz as he was now playing spoiler in hopes of getting folks nobody on our side respects to try to win the nomination on a long shot. I said this didn't seem like the best path to the WH and if he was serious about the Nation he would do everything he could to support the one person who has a real chance and prepare himself for a 2020 run - I got no argument or disagreement.

More from Newt here!

Newt Gingrich was surprisingly critical of Donald Trump, who he seems to have become a yuge supporter of, and his idiotic retweet of an insulting picture of Heidi Cruz, calling it “utterly stupid.”

Newt rightly said that the event showed how unpresidential Trump is and undermined his image as a possible nominee in people’s minds after that absurd insult. He praised Ted Cruz over THIS interview we posted earlier, saying that he looked as good as he’s ever seen him, and that the attack seems to have energized his campaign. Newty then called it a “wake up call” for the Trump campaign that no one of his staff understands. He then CONTINUED to say that the lawsuit Trump threatened was ridiculous. -Right Scoop
