In response to the Brussels terror attacks, the German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière called on Tuesday evening for stronger European cooperation on exchanging personal data.
Data protection is all well and good, but in times of crisis security comes first, de Maizière told public broadcaster ARD. The external borders of the Schengen zone have too many gaps in them. We need a register which shows whos coming in and whos leaving.
The minister also called for joining up the various data pots which security services in EU member states compile.
Europe as a whole is threatened and we need common solutions to terrorism, he argued.

That’s what Europe really needs is an unelected and unaccountable Federal government bureaucracy...just like we have.
ayep. more data ought to do it!
But once you’ve caught the terrorists, be sure to put them up in comfortable, environment-controlled cells; give them three hots and a cot, courtesy of the tax base; and schedule all the prayer meetings they want.
Ouch!
That’s what they’ve had for decades. And now they’re calling for more of it.
Control everything but the borders.
Yeah, that will work.
Here’s all the data Germany needs to fight terrorism.
Kick out the Middle Eastern bastards that you let in and don’t let in any more.
The ring leader of the bombings was protected and hidden by a network of his family and Jihadi sympathizers.
These people all need to be deported to break up the terrorist network and to punish the collaborators and enablers
This guys entire family should be sent home
Part of the change is legitimate. A report here a few days ago said that some European countries use different transliterations of names from Arabic or Cyrillic to Roman, so names of potential terrorists don’t track across borders.
All part of the plan.
Purposely allow millions of “migrants” to invade and kill off Euro’s.
Purposely do nothing to stop them from killing innocents.
Demand more “control” to stop the violence.
Adios Europe! Jihadi’s aren’t even their real enemy.
Why defend your people against an invading alien civilization when you can instead use the crisis to bring back the Stasi on steroids, right Germany? Ugh.
