Same reason he appears on ABC and CNN. Those networds and newspapers are read by independents and dems. Trump is appealing to those folks too, and is pulling them into his Big Tent.
Its a war tactic. You should reach The Art of War. You interface with the enemy and control the media reported not leave it to chance.
