The cowardly Pubbies in the Senate won’t say the obvious: if the Founders had wanted SC nominations to proceed outside of politics, they would have placed confirmation in the hands of a judicial review panel or similar.

The right answer is: we can stop it, so we will. (a variation on ‘elections have consequences’)

But wouldn't that be a micro-aggression or something?

They are abject cowards. There's no possible way to remove politics from SC nominations or approvals, so just say it!

I imagine even a judicial review panel would not be immune from being politicized. Who picks the panel, for instance?
