There is an obvious attempt to create an equivalence between Reagan & Trump.
TRUMP = REAGAN? -— NOT to the dwindling number of us who are retaining their rationality.
But elsewhere the delusions grow.

Another illusion is comparing 1980 America with that of 2016. Two different countries with massively different demographic structures. The electorate in 1980 was overwhelmingly white. Not so today, particularly in several of the largest states. This is important because whites are the only real "swing voters". GOP wins in California and NY were possible in 1980. Structurally impossible today.
There's very little margin left for the GOP and probably no slack available for a Reagan-like upward swing.
