New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Friday said Donald Trump was speaking figuratively when he predicted riots if the GOP blocks him from winning the presidential nomination.
I dont think he meant literal riots, Christie said during a press conference in New Jersey, according to The Wall Street Journal. "I think he meant political riots."
Still, Christie, who has endorsed Trump and appeared with him at campaign rallies, predicted that a contested convention selecting the Republican nominee would generate outrage. If someone goes in with the most delegates, the most votes, and then they are denied the nomination by what they consider to be political insiders, I think there would be real upset at that convention, he said. The Republican National Convention will be held in Cleveland in July.
The party is the people who belong to the party and vote in the party, Christie continued. "Its not the people in Washington, D.C., or on K Street.
[If] we are going to start having do-overs here, Ill take one, quipped the governor, who suspended his own GOP White House run last month. "I dont think thats the way the system works.
Trump on Wednesday forecast riots if he does not secure the GOP mantle despite his lead in both delegates and voter support.
I think youd have riots, he said. "I wouldnt lead it, but I think bad things would happen. Im representing ... many, many millions of people, in many cases first-time voters. After we win, I think a lot of feelings will be soothed.

In this PC world no one can speak figuratively anymore.
Cruz never has to worry about riots at his events because it would require at least two people to attend.
Of course he didnt mean riots literally and no one else thought he did either. They just all chose to pretend they interpreted it that way so as to continue promoting the Trump and violence message
Unfortunately the left does believe in riots, literal and destructive in order to subdue those who oppose them.
Well, there WAS a bit of an uproar at a recent Cruz rally when one of the regular diners at the Waffle House couldn’t get their regular stool.
he probably doesn’t mean anything he says, and feels perfectly free to unsay it the next day. that’s why he has no business being president.
if he didn’t mean riot when he said riot, then we have no reason to believe that means a literal wall when he says he is going to build a wall. it really is that simple.
The fact that it needed to be clarified is astounding.
Does the Donald qualify for AARP? Does he go to the early dinner, does he get a senior discount? just asking
Trump doesn’t need a discount,
He just eats Teds lunch
Well that is true, everyone must put up with a bully every now and again
Don’t bring a knife wielding maniac like Beck to a gun fight
Great comeback to a dumb post!

Huh? People bleed and property is damaged in either case.
This is the problem we’re having with the young knotheads, a cynical MSM and the public.
They seem to think that impeding a public way, throwing bottles and smashing cars is OK because it’s “political.”
The professional rabble rousers know that a riot is a riot, that it is anarchy, that it is illegal and that they are getting away with it. It’s disappointing to see that Krispy can’t see there is no distinction.
Break them up, arrest them and bring them up on charges.
In an age of great confusion, the mixup is almost inevitable.
Donald, were he more aware of this issue, could speak more carefully. I think he eventually will. But it might not be his first priority here. He knows he’s already being the proverbial bull in the china shop, so to have well groomed fur probably isn’t going to help that.
If you look up “riot” in the dictionary you’ll see metaphorical uses that don’t involve hurling bottles or any such thing.
Who has Trump bullied?
Wait what if Stabby Beck is lurking behind stage.
First, the article has nothing to do with events or rallies and second it nothing to do with Cruz. It's really funny though how deep Cruz lives in people's heads that they can't help mention him everywhere.
