Ted Cruz openly welcomed the backing of Mitt Romney on Friday afternoon, telling reporters at a press conference on the Arizona-Mexico border that Romney's decision is "pretty darn good."
"Listen, in my book, when someone says I'm voting for you and I encourage everyone else to vote for you, that's pretty darn good," Cruz said, also responding to the absence of an official endorsement by the GOP's 2012 nominee. "And I'll take that - and take that happily."

Yeah.
That TPA vote didn’t set off alarm bells for me personally, though I thought it was odd how he first voted for TPA then against TPA.
I rationalized that one away in my mind, but obviously if you have to rationalize something, there’s a problem.
But the Corker Bill vote cannot be rationalized at all. His explanation for it is pure Bovine Scatology.
That vote, and other things since then, especially things in his campaign, illustrate that he is not who he says he is.
Cruz is a pathological liar . His name is not even ever “Ted”
. The name on his Canadian birth certificate is “Rafael Edward Cruz” nowehre is there any Ted, lie 1 “My name is Ted”
2. Lie 2 “ I'm an American” No he's a Canadian.
Hey Rafael,
You may have fooled a lot of Americans imitating your preacher dad but not this American,
Go back to Canada you charlatan Rafael Cruz
We’re told how principled Cruz is yet he is happy that there are a group of people using his name in an attempt to get an open convention. Romney isn’t endorsing Cruz, he’s saying vote for Cruz to block Trump so we can have an open convention.
Baaaaad Mikey probably showed up......
:-)
You are saying Cruz should just roll over and tell Trump ok you can have it? Why would he do that? You give the impression you think Trump should have it just because he wants it. Not have to fight for it like they all do. Trump thinks he is best for the country. Ted thinks he is best for the country. It is up to them to make it or not.
Yep...
“:^)
One simple reason. A Cruz Presidency would "fix" Obama's legacy for future historians. If the NWO/CFR Globalists had been able to elect Cruz, the "racist birther slander" against Obama would be moot.
Historians would say that Cruz, a white man, born in Canada, was elected when hateful Republicans said Obama, only accused of being born in Kenya, was ineligible. Thus proving Republicans are racist.
The precedent would have been set to bring in a most vile candidate born anywhere else in the world (Saudi Arabia, Iran, China?) to tear us apart.
I personally don't care who the last three Cruz supporters vote for.
If you are suggesting that you still support Ted Cruz, ask your therapist why you still seem to be so delusional.
Good question. I guess Ted's more or less like the other 20 people who decided to run. Open shots at the presidency don't come around that often and politicians don't know where they'll be in eight years.
In Ted's case, he's always been a young man in a hurry, and he hasn't exactly been making friends in the Senate, so the White House looked like a good next move. It must have looked that way at the time. A year ago, few predicted that Donald Trump would stay in the race and be winning.
Why did Donald Trump give $600,000 to Mitch McConnell ‘stop the Tea Party fund?’
So Ted Cruz should tell a supporter to go get on the plane and go home like Trump did to Christie?
Or move him away from the microphone like Trump did to Ben Carson?
We welcome all voters for Ted Cruz, I don’t care how crazy they are.
If the worst happens and Trump is the nominee, you can bet he will welcome all the people you currently call losers to the fold.
He will be begging for their votes and so will you trumpers.
But you’ve been so dam mean that you may have driven away potential voters.
I wouldn’t do that, Doughty, I hate Hillary more.
But until Donald Trump has the nomination actually clutched in his short fingers, I will continue to point out reasons why I don’t think he should be the nominee.
I know you are well meaning...
Look, Trump backs a lot of what you want, and in your heart you know it. You would vote for him. There are plenty of reasons to, and you know that too.
I am trying to tell folks that we have a guy who wants what we want, has the fire in the belly, and the gravitas to see them put into motion.
By supporting Cruz beyond this point, people are more and more enabling the GOPe to bring this thing to a floor fight.
Trump will never be nominated from the floor of the convention in an open convention setting.
Do you have any idea what kind of damage you and your fellow travelers are doing, by endangering a Trump victory before the convention?
You are helping to destroy the likelihood we will get anything we want over the next four years.
Guys that are bigger than life don’t come along very often. 1980 to 2016. That’s 36 years. That’s a little more than a generation.
If we blow this chance to get a man like Trump in, we won’t have another one. Our nation will be gone, even if we install people like GW. We are that far gone.
So I actually beg you folks to wake the hell up.
You are actually contributing to the destruction of our nation, all in the name of Ted Cruz, who the GOPe do not want much more than they want Trump.
Terms like foolish are insightful, but there is not better word to use here.
Folks have said they want the things Trump has presented as his platform. They have said they wanted it for decades. Now they are helping to make sure those things never come to pass.
You folks have to wake up.
Our nation hangs in the balance, and the next few months are all we have.
You simply have to drop the Cruz pipe-dream and help make sure we can reach the goal.
Otherwise our very existence here will have been one great big lie.
We didn’t really want what we said we did, more than we wanted to back a man that simply cannot win the delegates needed at this point.
Folks, you need to wake up.
There’s been plenty of “mean” to go around here. It wasn’t necessary; because I think we are all against the Establishment. It is the Establishment that is dividing us.
Cruz is doing his bit to divide us, by getting in bed with Romney (who already has three favorites in the race - Cruz, Kasich and Ryan). But all are welcome to vote Trump when he gets the nomination.
