I think there is a remedy to this problem with the semantics. Permit me to use your post as a reply and, an excuse to vent. There is a point to be made about the entire process that goes on with these illegals that makes them susceptible to do stuff that the legals do not do.

I prefer to call them illegal border crossers. I think it perfectly describes what they are doing. When I go into Canada, I have to show the border agent my Enhanced Washington State I.D. card. It has embedded a microchip with all of my personal data. It works just like a passport and it can be scanned. They scan it when I get on the Clipper and go over to Victoria, Vancouver Island. They also scan it when I come back. I am a legal border crosser.

Now if I took a row boat over and beached on a remote stretch, I am an illegal border crosser. Also, I am in a different situation. I have no place to stay and, if I have no job, I’ll need a way to pay my way until I get a job. I can also make lots of under the table money. This causes me to operate like the typical border crossers. I could live off a big wad of Canadian money I packed in my backpack. However, I can make more money with a backpack full of meth or heroin. One gram of heroin is the size of a sugar packet and costs between $150-250 in Victoria (I looked up the current price). A backpack with two kilos of heroin might bring $200,000. Once I make my connection, I go back home and live like a king. However, in order to deliver my 2 kilos of heroin, I need a place to stay. Perhaps I might find a granny with a Purple Heart and do to her what those savage illegal border crossers do. I’d do anything for a place to hang out while I cash in on those stupid Canadian addicts.

The above is what I imagine is the mindset of the illegal border crosser. For those stupid addicts, he is a hero. For those corrupt city officials, he is a hero too. A little under the table money if money for doing nothing.

That’s why I hate those illegal border crossers. There is no control over what they do because the are virtually hidden—under the table. And once they get back to where they come from, there is no way you can find them for what they did.
