We need someone that can reach across the aisles, sorting out the whack-jobs from those worth saving.
We also need someone that isn't saturated in the climate of law and political science, that is what delegating responsibility is for, in this place in history.
Without gutting the Deep State and granting triage to the Middle Class and Small Business Entrepreneurs, the USofA will not stay together in one piece for another 10-20 years.

Not a bad analogy, although Reagan's transformation was established well before his candidacy.
I know that Trump is not a proven commodity. But his campaign to date has been based on positions conservatives have long advocated. And his ability to deal with the MSM has been exemplary, if not superior to Reagan's. Trump can lead and is not afraid. And as you say, Trump has the non-politician pedigree many have been demanding.
Trump will be on the ballot as the Republican nominee. Hillary will be the Democratic opponent. Both races are essentially over. The right needs to get its act together and win this thing.
