Meanwhile, Carl's Jr restaurants are going to try a see-no-peeple approach. Thanks RoosterRedux.

The gossip was that Google paid around $60 million for Boston Dynamics. Will be interesting to see what they get for it.

What could go wrong with Replicants?

Google is going to wrap around us with their new friends at Apple and deliver a warm gooey concoction of new social utopia and big centralized corporate hegemony anyway. Robots are just so not socialist...no one will be able to afford one but the ruling classes. They’ll probably give them to the Chicoms in exchange for more slave labor.

Google can afford to dabble in stuff like this, but I don’t see commercializing it to be in their wheelhouse. A defense contractor will likely pick it up and leverage hell out of DoD contracts, as they do.

I would guess between $1.1 and $1.2 billion. Brilliant media campaign to portrat BD as the market leader, and even Drudge kicked in to help with massive exposure.

One of Boston Dynamics’ robots was a murder suspect in last week’s episode of Elementary.
