I think the legislator (state level) is either unaware of federal laws regarding recruiting for foreign hostile powers or is trying to show an absurd outcome for some reason.

Look at all the events shut down on campi regarding Ann Coulter or Miss Hirsi Ali (probably misspelled her name) or Ben Shapiro. Pamela Geller comes to mind as well.

The Left slams those shut mighty fast.

He IS guilty of treason. Why on earth would any sane person give recruiting space to demons who shoot, behead, drown, burn alive, blow up, etc. innocent human beings? This guy needs a very thorough beat-down, get doused with pig blood and run out of town naked.

I know that several university campuses have tried to ban the Marines, Army and CIA from recruiting.

This is an unfortunate highlight from something that was actually meant for good. When I first read about this, it was to protect conservative students from being harassed and harangued by the special snowflakes and their trigger warnings and safe space. What the dem did was to push the slippery slope argument, and Rep. Daniel took the bait. He should have pushed the free political speech angle and dismissed the democrat’s question by citing laws against treason.

Instead, he stuck his foot in it and made it that much harder for conservatives to have a voice on campus.

Wiser heads have prevailed and the bill has been pulled. Going over the list of senators/reps, he doesn’t even show up. Must be newer than the web site keeps up with.

It seems that only you and I actually READ the article. I agree with you.

The dem asked a trick question and he took the bait. What he sould have said is that this law does not apply to terrorist organizations who are activity and conspicuously killing people. There are voices on college campuses that are sympathetic to groups like ISIS. But voices critical of ISIS should be also on as well on campus.

That the MSM sensationalized an (albeit stupid) statement from a (R) to make him/party/voters look stupid?

1) I didn’t know ISIS was an ‘army’. Whose flag do they march under? They are an armed theocracy of no nationality and, as such, should NOT be afforded to be treated using GC standards (extract as much info and then hung/shot). Course, we’re not fighting to WIN against ISIS anyway...we (govt) let ‘em the front door/border.

2) People dumb enough to leave to join up, yank their Citizenship.

3) Treason? That stopped ~WWII. Anyone think the people today even know the meaning? Sure didn’t stop/work during the Communist infiltration AFTER WWII, or the ‘radicals’ of the 60/70.

4) Last, but not least: It’s not Fascism when WE do it, right? “I may not like what you say, but I will defend your Right...”?? When the shoe is on the OTHER foot, *then* it’s a ‘problem’?? Either #3 or #4, but never doubt the opposition (regardless of the side you’re on) WILL use every avenue available to use the (DEADLY) force of govt against the other.
