Early on in the 2016 presidential election when more than a dozen GOP candidates were in the race for the White House, nationally syndicated Salem radio host Hugh Hewitt predicted a nominee wouldn't be crowned during the primary process, but instead at an open convention.

“He already endorsed Trump.”
“He already endorsed Trump.”
Have the talk show hosts and pundits that have gone out and opposed Trump lost market share, ratings?
“Hugh continues to embarrass his loyal fans with his GOPe support of an open convention.”
“If It Isn’t Close They Can’t Cheat “
“An open convention is stupid. Trump will either win outright or be close enough to make a deal to win. The other candidates should drop out and prepare to beat Hillary and the Democrats.”
I wonder if Hugh gets a thrill up his leg every time he thinks about an open convention?
BOL!
2004 was the last time old hugie got one right.
I like to know people (not as a friend) who have track histories like Huge. If they say buy x, you know to short it.
If they say sell, you want to but a lot.
Somehow they have followers.
Hugh Hewitt is on meth. LOL!
If so the GOP is dead trump goes independent and we win
Remember in High School the “In Crowd”? The “Beautiful Ones” that many kids were jealous of? Good. Now remember the toadies and sycophants that hung around and did their bidding. That’s what Hugh is. One of the sycophants of the GOPe, doing their dirty work and living off of table scraps. In private the Ryans and McConnells speak of such lapdogs with contempt. But then they go on his show and pet him and he wags his tail and thinks that he’s a power broker. In reality he’s only a lickspittle.
Dunno about that. I run into a lot of Trumpers.
I don’t know. All I know is some of them lost my lil share;)
I heard Hugh talking about a convention with other guests last Tuesday and I thought Trump had been losing big. It was the opp0site yet these guys were plotting to give away the election to a traitor. Ben Shapio says he will not vote for Trump in the general election either which means he wants Clinton as president.
Yah, me too. Just registered republican, and sighned up for online caucas voting. One more Vote Trump from the beehive.
Boy howdy, doesn’t Utah live up to it’s nick : The beehive state.
Dang. signed.
These clowns haven’t realized that they are not just trashing Trump when they say and do things like this.
They are turning off the millions of Trump supporters, who are say no more bs and disappear as audiences.
Article II, Section 1, Clause 2: Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.Article II, Section 1, Clause 3: The Electors shall meet in their respective States, and vote by Ballot for two Persons, of whom one at least shall not be an Inhabitant of the same State with themselves. ..."
The problem is that the constitutionally undefined political parties have pirated the elector appointment process for president imo. So claimis by the political parties that they decide who the candidates are as unconstitutional as the political parties are imo.
Also probably the main reason that political parties are now unconstitutionally interfering in the presidential election process imo, is because they want to control 10th Amendment-protected state powers which the corrupt feds have been stealing from the states since after the Civil War.
In fact, note that one of the very few powers that the states have actually delegate to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, to regulate an aspect INTRAstate commerce is to manage the U.S. Mail Service (1.8.7). And how many political parties does it take to manage the U.S. Mail Service?
I say none.
Remember in November !
When patriots elect Trump, Cruz, or whatever conservative they elect, they need to also elect a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its Section 8-limited powers to support the new president, but also protect the states from unconstitutional federal government overreach, including putting a stop to unconstitutional federal taxing and spending.
Also, consider that such a Congress would probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
Hewitt is about as conservative as Bill Clinton. He is an irritating idiot who somehow thinks that he spouts words of wisdom. All I need to know is that CNN had him on their Republican debate panels. It was so obvious that he hates Trump. He could be mistaken for Megan Kelley’s twin brother.
by my count,
there are 846 bound delegates,
left to
be decided.
Trump has how many already?
