Political parties, not voters, choose their presidential nominees, a Republican convention rules member told CNBC, a day after GOP front-runner Donald Trump rolled up more big primary victories.
"The media has created the perception that the voters choose the nomination. That's the conflict here," Curly Haugland, an unbound GOP delegate from North Dakota, told CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Wednesday. He even questioned why primaries and caucuses are held.

I called - I think people like Curly dont have a clue how their comments play into the big picture. NDs delegates are unbound, apparently those are the only ones hes talking about. But his comments are playing into the big picture that the GOP elites are conspiring to thwart the greatest movement in the last 100 years of politics. Im not sure Curly knows that - so that is what I told the lady.

We-The-People are awake and alert - if the elitists defy us this time it will not go good.
You may choose the nominee you’re willing to get behind, but you do not choose the President.
You want your nominee to win? They and your party best be agreeable to the voters. Piss the voters off, everyone may lose.
This guy should be kicked out of the GOP today.
Isn’t the idea behind a political party to get people to vote for your candidates?
Excellent!
Thank you for posting this. I hope everyone, regardless of your candidate, take time to listen to the Delegate from North Dakota.
If indeed the fix is in, as I suspect it may be. We need to be prepared to deal with it decisively and quickly.
I believe that the will of the people in this election HAS to prevail, regardless of the candidate.
The GOP ignores the voters again, and again, and again,
and again, and again,
They must be removed from the top down.
Every single one, and replaced with true conservatives.

Your idiot is running loose again.
This person is a complete idiot. Should be in an institution.
So, it bears repeating.
Yes, but what if the political party is nothing more than a carefully constructed illusion?
Sorry never saw it
They are still “bound” on the first ballot by their State-party rules as it relates to voting.
Curly ought to be advised that the voters choose the party, not the other way around.
Doing the Curly shuffle.
