SALT LAKE CITY — The GOP presidential primary debate scheduled for Monday has been canceled, a representative for the Salt Palace Convention Center confirmed Wednesday.
The debate was canceled following Donald Trump’s announcement that he wouldn’t be attending and a subsequent announcement from the campaign strategist for Gov. John Kasich that he wouldn’t attend without Trump.
They were out of control. The RNC allowed it to be out of control. DNC would have never allowed the pummeling of its candidates like RNC did.
We are “The Stupid Party”.
So getting republicans to support you in the primary has no purpose. Really?

I just assumed, considering the source.
Trump won the North Marianas, Florida, North Carolina,’Illinois. And Missouri. Kasich won Ohio. Cruz won.... Why would they be interested in debating Cruz? I like Cruz but it is time for him to negotiate his best deal and get behind Trump to finish off the GOPe. The longer he waits the less his leverage.

Endless debates, especially hosted by Megyn Kelly, serve only advertising income. I would hope voters would look deeper than a debate for info on candidates.

Candidates need to be vetted in the primaries. That is the purpose of primaries. Trump is not being vetted, just like Obama. The voters need to know what “scandals” or shortcomings are going to be raised in the general election before they vote on a nominee.
Trump has done twice the debates Hillary has and unlike here his were in the face of an extremely hostile moderator lineup all but twice
Fox the last few has been just plain over the top as ringleaders of a pile up on him
I’m almost 60 and have never seen anyone overcome such an onslaught since early August

I agree with you about vetting candidates. Debates are hardly the sum of vetting. We aren’t going to learn more from 92 debates vs 15 debates.

The more vetting the better. The opposing candidates need to vet the candidates. The media will not do it.
