If Cruz were up by 1 he would say the people have spoken and I’m the winner...
It’s all politics by individual perspective.

“..Cruz is an insider after all.”
Oh yes, he has always been. In spite of his history of going up against the Washington mob. It is all about winning AT ANY PRICE. Plain and simple.

Trump holds all the cards even WITHOUT all the delegates. The Republicans are just saying all this to try to drum up support. They SHOULD be focused on putting out the message that Bernie was robbed of the primaries.
Make him run third party.

Do these clowns not understand that Trump is a master negotiater? He is not going to sit quietly on the sidelines and get played for a fool.
To: Sybeck1
This guy has become such a d-——ebag.
He’s clearly all in it for himself. You can tell from his greasy, smarmy speeches.
He probably still has all of his high school debate team trophies and ribbions in his office and home.

“witnessed the exit of Marco Rubio, who boasted some of the strongest general election fundamentals and head-to-head numbers of anyone in the race”
Now that is funny right there. Sadly there are those that believe it.

ALL this talk of a contested convention is hogwash.

I think there are a lot of factors that nobody is really accounting for at this point, especially within the GOPe #NeverTrump sphere (and yes, this includes Cruz, since he has no path to victory at this point).
People are going to stop turning out for the losers.
The motivation to actually go vote is going to diminish greatly for Cruz. Kasich has done poorly in almost all of the 27 races so far, so he'll decline to pre-dropout Carson levels. But also, after siding with leftists and BLM rioters, then having only 2nd and 3rd place finishes yesterday, a not-insignificant segment Cruz supporters will struggle with the motivation to vote. Trump supporters, bolstered by his wins, are going to continue to turn out in record numbers.
The GOPe leadership is all over the place.
They can't decide to support Cruz, one of their own but someone they don't like personally because of his toxic personality and grandstanding, or Kasich, a guy they do like, but has mathematically ZERO chance of winning at this point. Every day they're flip-flopping between who to get behind.
The losers will run out of money.
Kinda hard to solicit donations when you have literally no hope of reaching the magic number. "Give me money so that I can maybe stop Trump" is very hallow compared to "Give me money because I can win and set America on a great path".
I think after yesterday, it's over, and any time and money they sink into stopping Trump is a wasted effort. I think he will win the delegates he needs to secure the nomination.

You mean like cruz did on TPA and the corker bill? Or maybe you are talking about cruz pulling the race card on Trump, or blaiming Trump for violence by blm crowd, Is that what you call "going up against the Washington mob"?

There is a difference between “contested” and “brokered.”
A race is a contest until someone crosses the finish line. When one candidate collects enough votes to do that, he wins the nomination.
Trump will likely do that before the convention begins. If he doesn’t cross the finish line, then would you expect those still in the race to stop running?
Cruz isn’t referring to an outside candidate swooping in. He’s talking about Trump and himself. Depending on what happens between now and early June, one or the other of them may collect a voting majority of delegates. If they don’t, Rubio and Kasich have bound delegates that they could release.
Leading is not the same as winning.
It’s a complicated game, and everything I’ve just said plays by the rules.

Keep talking Ted. Rick Scott will make a fine VP.

I think the GOP’s constant reference to a brokered/contested convention is part of their usual strategy for overcoming the people.
First they posit some outrageous scenario (i.e. stealing the nomination) and they say unbelievably tyrannical things. This is to desensitize the people to the act, they hear it over and over until they stop reacting.
Then they make it inevitable double-daring the people to do something about it. It’s all gradual enough to avoid torches and pitchforks yet arouse opposition.
When they see the people realize they’re screwed yet again, they make their move. And like Obamacare, the Iran deal, the budget, TPA/TPP, etc. they fulfill their duties.

I saw a report that he would not go along with a contested convention. Which is it?

ALL this talk of a contested convention is hogwash.I agree with you. It is good for selling papers...and getting politicians in front of the camera that otherwise would be unseen.

And that would be the end of the GOP.
