Mika Mocks Cruz Mannerisms: 'Cartoon Character, Oozes Insincerity'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 03/16/2016 7:18:15 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Riffing off a clip of Ted Cruz welcoming Marco Rubio followers to his fold, Mika Brzezinski went on an extended critique of Cruz's mannerisms on today's Morning Joe.

Steve Schmidt joined in, accusing Cruz of "oozing insincerity." Joe Scarborough pretended not to know what the others were talking about, facetiously wondering "what are you talking about? You didn't think that was from the heart?"

Cruz acted like he was making a victory speech on a night that proved his campaign is a delusional disaster.

Yeah, the single most disturbing aspect of this guy. After each significant loss he makes a victory speech.....like HE was the winner.

Could be losing kills off his cognitive brain cells.

========================================

We now see the Boston Herald lauding the second coming of Cruz, made over into the ESTABLISHMENT's only recourse to stop Trump. A seemingly staunch supporter of Constitutional principles and conservatism allies with the execrable ESTABLISHMENT that has made a career of lying and stabbing us in the back.

Sorry to say, Cruz is one of "them"....a POS politician. He will do and say anything to win. He will become whatever is necessary to gain power. Over the years, Cruz/s mask slipped every now and then. His true self was exposed and it wasn/t pretty.....and I do mean Glenn Beck.

Actually, he oozes sincerity in an insincere manner.

Agreed. Also, when he modulates to stridency, he sounds exactly as shrill and angry as Hillary! when she yells. Ted Cruz needs Marco to help his polish his delivery.

Ted Cruz has a voice made for acting and a face made for radio.

“I hate the regularly scheduled pregnant pauses of Cruz.”

I just commented about that this morning on a different thread - that is exactly the way Hillary and other professional politicians/debaters/orators talk.

They say something then they wait.... They say something then they wait...

It’s so condescending and patronizing.

Mika — portraying a feckless lightweight... oh wait... that’s not a portrayal.

Indeed you are correct!

Mark Levin, Glenn Beck and other opinion providers don’t get it.

Conservative? Liberal? Populist? That’s not the determining factor for most people. And to respond with “well they should” is irrelevant. Reality is what it is.

At its essence, people vote for people they LIKE.

Was McCain more politically palatable than Obama? YES!
Did he win? NO!
Why?
People liked Obama more than McCain.

Same thing with Romney. People liked Obama more.

Who is more likeable, Cruz or Trump? Trump.

Who is more likeable, Trump or Hillary? Trump.

Trump wins.

Most Free Republic members are too young to remember the Nixon-Kennedy election. It is important in choosing a candidate to support. Nixon was superior to Kennedy in every respect, save one and it was decisive. Kennedy was media savvy and had a persona which was very media friendly. Nixon had an odd physical appearance and had off-putting mannerisms which were visible on TV especially during the debates. Nixon should have won in a landslide but lost in a squeaker (with a little help from the Daley machine in Chicago). Without getting into Ted’s alleged sinless conservative perfection (which is eminently debatable) from a media persona perspective, he is much more like Nixon than Reagan. Many voters will make decisions based on subliminal, nonverbal impressions on TV. Ted may very well lose in the general election if can’t project a more likable, attractive image on TV.

He is just like Obama ... uses a teleprompter for a simple speech and tries to make it dramatic ... that’s why he pauses a lot, has to keep adjusting back to the teleprompter ...

Makes you wonder what it’s like at the Cruz breakfast table ... “ Well my dear, would you like these GLORIOUS pancakes with Heavenly maple syrup or the Blessed ham and Joyous eggs. And God Bless this toast”

My wife just thinks he’s creepy

What’s maddening is that he has great conservative ideas. But he has GOT to let someone coach him on his speaking style. It is so over the top. No person talks like that except *maybe* at some hick tent revival where the preacher is selling snake oil. If he’s too oblivious to know and see this it means he’s incredibly unself aware or he is and is purposely cultivating that annoying style.

He reminds me in looks and mannerisms of Al Gore. His grunts, groans and calculated pauses in his delivery reek of insincerity. He reminds me of a combination of a snake oil salesman, a televangelist and a sleazy lawyer.
