Federal immigration officers refused to let an armed team of agents into their office to detain the accused conspirator in Decembers San Bernardino terrorist attack, government officials acknowledged Tuesday, exposing an embarrassing lack of communication within the Department of Homeland Security.
Those who ran the legal immigration benefits office in San Bernardino refused to let a team from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement enter to detain and hold Enrique Marquez so the FBI could interview him later, Sen. Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said. It turned out Mr. Marquez didnt show for the meeting at the immigration office, but Mr. Johnson said the lack of communication between U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the benefits branch, and Homeland Security Investigations, which is an enforcement division within the Homeland Security Department, was stunning.
We had a team, armed up, potentially dealing with a terrorist, they had a tip from the FBI that Mr. Marquez might be at the USCIS office, and the officer in charge of USCIS wouldnt allow HSI into the building, the senator said.
Even after discovering Mr. Marquez didnt show, the USCIS officers refused to turn over his immigration file to the enforcement agents, instead sending them away only with a photocopy of his picture, Mr. Johnson, a Wisconsin Republican, said.

You know, if the US troopers in WWII, Vietnam, or Korea walked through an enemy town bunched up like the thugs in SWAT teams do, they’d be mown down in by one shooter in a second floor window. In 4 seconds.
But they walked through Boston like that oo - looking for the Boston Bomber - who was helped by this same agency.
Regardless ... Notice the attitude in this branch of Obola’s government: Illegal aliens we must shelter and help, FBI we must oppose!
It’s Anarcho-Tyranny, and it’s all part of the plan.
“And the damn fools in the media wonder why Trump is leading.”
Worth repeating!
USCIS has always been corrupt and dysfunctional.
