Ted Cruz open to Rubio and Kasich in cabinet

Sen. Ted Cruz said Monday he could see inviting presidential campaign opponents Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich into his cabinet in Washington -- and he also said he could see circumstances where he would not support front-runner Donald Trump as the nominee.

The conservative Texan has been repeatedly asked about whether he would support Trump if the mogul ends up winning the primary. Despite a the presence of the "Never Trump" movement within the Republican Party, candidates have been quick to say they will support the Republican nominee.

But speaking with reporters in Illinois on Monday, Cruz did say there was a scenario he wouldn't get behind Trump.

"I can give you one example where I would no longer support Donald Trump -- if, for example, he were to go out on Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, I would not be willing to support Donald Trump," Cruz said.

This is one of many recent bad strategic moves by Cruz. He ought to be positioning himself as an anti-establishment candidate for future elections, rather than trying to ingratiate himself to a GOP establishment that by their own admission barely tolerates him.

Cruz is being used by Mitt, Marco, Jeb, and Johnny as an anti-Trump tool; they and the RNC will throw him under the bus when they're done and he's no longer useful. Does Cruz really think that the RNC will pick him in a brokered convention?

Ok, just lock the cabinet and lose the key after all three of them get in there.

If Ted Cruz became president... I would be very afraid of Glenn Beck as secretary of state.

As a Cruz supporter, I think this is a good decision on Cruz’s part. We need to get this race down to a 1 on 1 so that Cruz can consolidate the anti-Trump vote. I also think it is good that Cruz made it clear that his pledge to support the nominee would not apply if Trump goes completely crazy.

Cruz is an opportunist, playing whatever card — now a conservative one, he thinks he needs to play to get ahead.

He can’t cloak himself into establishment fast enough.
I am guessing he is trying to get them to campaign for him because all three of them are going to be so embarrassed tonight.

Let’s face it, you’re totally deluded so you would think any action by Cruz is great. That Cruz would want two big establishment RINOs, both open border pimps and TPP promoters, on his cabinet doesn’t help him.

More likely Secretary Of Tin-Foil Hats.

Oh, what the heck, how bad could he be? Let Beck take a stab at it.

Cruz has been playing the part of Constitutional American Patriot since he’s been in the Senate. Can the act Teddy, you’re an establishment puke just like those currently in DC who have sold us out.

And Trump will not support Cruz if he keeps spinning lies and pandering to the GOPe. Where did you people ever get the notion that he was not part of the establishment?

Cruz isn’t going to get the 1237+ delegates required for an uncontested nomination. Even in the unlikely event where he gets a plurality of delegates and is slightly ahead of Trump, the delegates will be under no obligation to support Cruz in a contested/brokered convention. Most delegates party hacks who will nominate whoever the RNC tells them to nominate in a contested convention, and that won’t be Cruz. So the most Cruz will accomplish is getting a nomination for someone like Bush or Rubio out of this.

All three forced Trump to take the pledge to support the Republican nominee. Now that it looks like it’s going to be Trump, all three are hedging on the pledge they took. This speaks volumes about how little character the establishment candidates Rubio, Kasich, and Cruz actually have.

I’d say its a little premature for Teddy to be picking his cabinet. By tomorrow he will be an also ran.
