Relatives of a 17-year-old are angry the teenager was shot and killed by a homeowner who police say was protecting her property.
The sister of the teen who died identified him as Trevon Johnson. She said he was a student at D.A. Dorsey Technical College.
I dont care if she have her gun license or any of that. That is way beyond the law way beyond, said Johnsons cousin Nautika Harris. He was not supposed to die like this. He had a future ahead of him. Trevon had goals he was a funny guy, very big on education, loved learning.
On Thursday, police say Johnson burglarized a home south of 79th Street near I-95 just blocks away from where he lives.

The comments at the site are a hoot! The word “Dindu Nuffins” comes up quite often.
To me, the surprising thing is that the site is allowing comments. You know where they’ll go and that’s where they’re going. White people are speaking out. I like that.
Poor boy, thieving was the only thing he was good at and he did it to feed starving children and to rescue abandoned pets. So sad.
There’s a lesson to be learned here but I expect it’ll be lost on the ones who actually need to learn it.
Reader Comment: His point of view is now the ceiling in the morgue.
I'm SO bad. I admit, I laughed.
yes....they’ve actually had to stop asking “where do you get your ‘support’ from?” It stigmatizes them and damages their poor psyches.
Or even funny. Wasn't meant to be either.
You have to look at it from every childs point of view that was raised in the hood, said Harris. You have to understand how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point-of-view.
He should have looked at it from the point of view of homeowners...how they gonna Gat the hoodrats.

The dead thief’s cousin is the one who said this. I can’t believe this excuse!
Didn’t Ben Carson and Clarence Thomas both grow up poor? Whatever happened to working hard to getting yourself out of a tough situation?
Trevon had goals
he was a funny guy, very big on education, loved learning.
I love to see armed females taking care of business instead of being victims.
I didn’t see the race of the homeowner cited (clue 1) but as that neighborhood is 99% black she was probably black as well.
Wonder what his “college” buddies that get free tuition too are going to have to say about this one.
You know?We just have to get rid of guns so students like Trevon can go out and succeed in his career of burglarizing innocent people.
Good riddance to a poor student of life.He didn’t learn that to live a long life you don’t break in to somebody else’s home.
They might be black people too.
True. They’re just biding their time until that lawyer they saw on TV pushes their SSDI claim through, then it’s, “We all’s happy heah!”
And I might be King of Romania.
I occasionally feel bad at the stuff I laugh at. There was a story recently about the Mexican prison going up in flames. One freeper simply said “refried beaners.” I’m still laughing about that one.
LOL! Very good.
If she be white and he be black then she be fooked.
Just-us system 2016
So the idiot's mother actually tries to justify her son being a thief. Who else tries to rationalize thievery/criminality? How about your boy get a job and earn some money lady?
Is her kind of "thinking" common in the inner city? "How else he gonna get his money?"...unbelievable.
Non sequitur. Are you saying that David Clarke thinks as the “hood” people do?
