If it was 1630, they missed the starving time and both Powhatan wars which was good, but the best arable land anywhere nearby would have already been granted, so they likely had to forge their way inland into the wilderness unless they were tradesmen, merchants or such.

Well, I have all the names and dates - my aunt was an obsessive genealogist, spending much of her life tramping through graveyards and reading old church records on both sides of the pond. I’ll dig up the box of records soon - the closet it’s in needs housecleaning badly ;-)
