For the conservative movement, Ted Cruz was going to be a savior. The anointed one. His father told us that Ted was anointed to bring the spoils of war to the Priests. The congregation of the New Beginnings Church in Irving, Texas, laid hands on Ted and he was invited to speak in tongues. And the high priests of National Review solemnly said amen.
Like Cummings Buffalo Bill, Ted would ride a watersmooth-silver stallion and break Donald Trump. Because the self-styled conservative movement had pronounced Ted to be an authentic constitutionalist, and nothing else mattered.

Trump isn’t claiming to be the voice of conservatism. He’s running more as a conservative populist than a ‘movement conservative.’
Actually, I don’t care how many times either of them has been or will be married.
Exactly!!
Me too. Turned him off after he cut off the caller who dared to mention Goldman Sachs. Called the guy names and wouldn’t hear his reasons for believing that Cruz is establishment.
bump
Again, incorrect. Per USC Title 8 Section 1401 subsection G, Cruz was and always has been a US citizen at birth. He has never been naturalized as a person who is born a US citizen does not need naturalization.
Canadian law is irrelevant to determining US Citizenship.
if Hillary wins, we will blame trump, trumpets will blame Cruz, we will all fall victim to our pride
I voting for The American!
I remember a sports writer using that poem in a column after the Cowboys lost a super bowl or something.
It seems to refer to even ... God, he was a handsome man and a good shot ... great and wonderful people die.
But, sorry folks, Ted’s not dead yet.
Look, I used to like Trump before he revealed himself as a shallow self-absorbed buffoon incapable of either getting elected or governing effectively afterwards.
Don’t lecture to me as if I just fell of the back of a turnip truck; I’ve been around politics for over 50 years. By the way I have never compared Trump to Hitler, Mussolini or Stalin. I only compare him to our own prototype narcissistic statist jackass, Theodore Roosevelt. That’s bad enough for me. I want the statist project unwound, not continued. This is the best chance I have seen in my lifetime and I don’t want to see it wasted on the likes of Trump.
You sound confidently Unipartyish.
You must know that the fix is in for the globalists.
How joyful and pure you are.
Yep. That’s the establishment plan. They can’t beat Trump honestly, so they want to give it to Hillary. Truly disgusting.
And Uniparty ted is the answer to the statist problem. LOL!
Cruz may or may not garner a majority of delegates before the convention. I’ll have a better feel for that after tomorrow.
But he has a better than even chance to go into the convention with about 200 delegates more than Trump. If that turns out to be the case, the Trump brigades had better stand down.
Ted’s horse has died he just won’t get off.
God bless you. Have fun doing it.
Better than even? No. Try no chance. He cannot beat Trump. He can at best come close (say 7-800 delegates), and that is a long shot. He won his last big state in Texas. Maybe he gets a majority in MO, but that is not WTA. He doesn’t get much after that, and nothing big.
if God has anything to do with it ant wants Cruz to be president, then Ted will be President
Ted Cruz is a good man, a great candidate with a solid conservative/constitutional record.
The lies said about him are monumental, colossal, bewildering, exhausting.
He has my vote, and the votes of many FReepers tired of getting slammed by the pro-Trump faction on FR ...
I fully expect to be ridiculed and taunted for supporting Cruz ... :-/
The devil is in the details which the majority of us do not know. It is not unlike Rubio mentioning the Triad.
I saw a video of Cruz explaining his position on ethanol to a corn farmer. I didnt know anything about what was going on until he explained it. He wants to level the playing field for all producers of our natural energy resources, including oil, gas, wind, solar, and ethanol. Check it out, its not long. Scroll down past the first 2 images and then to the third video.
Being a lawyer he knows that if the judge has the truth and all the evidence he will be able to make a good judgment. That is what he meant. Judges are low-information, too.
