A few Dems are angry about the DNC's treatment of Bernie
IF Trump doesn’t go into the convention with 1237 pledged delegates, then anything can happen. As long as they don’t do anything underhanded to strip away or disqualify some of his delegates to keep him under 1237, there is nothing unfair or unprecedented about an open convention - even one where the candidate with the most delegates going in is not the eventual nominee.
This is how they take your country away from you. Is the GOPe willing to go that far?

The 1/3rd of just the Republican party that supports Trump is not ALL. I agree that if he gets to 1237 then he better get the nomination but there’s still about 2/3rds of us JUST ON THE RIGHT that don’t want him as the nominee. Just because you think he’s the next Coming doesn’t mean everyone does.
You are delusional. The rules PREVENT any candidate other than those qualified to be placed into nomination under 40 (b). That means the nominee will be either Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. No one else.
Jeb Bush, Paul Ryan, John Kasich, Ben Carson, etc. cannot even have their names put up for a vote.
I have had a look at the numbers and frankly I don’t know if anyone will have the delegates for a first ballot nomination, but as hard as it is for you to hear, there is at least as strong a chance that it will be Ted Cruz with the numbers come convention time, and not Donald Trump.
My concern, and posts like your confirm it, is that Trump diehards are so locked into their mutual delusions that no other result will ever be accepted. That’s the very definition of a sore loser.
Meanwhile you are free to play the jackass, call names, etc. as it is all meaningless until the votes are counted.
Stopped reading right there.
If you have anything further to post to me ...Don't bother.
I was just listening to Hugh Hewitt, and he was saying “If he misses the necessary number of delegates by only one... they should! Rules are Rules. I guess some people will be upset, but rules are rules”
“Whether you like it our not, our votes...our MAJORITY votes for Trump mean something.”
I don’t think Trump won the majority in any state:
http://www.cbsnews.com/elections/2016/primaries/?linkId=21968550
In fact, to my knowledge, the only candidate to break 50% in any state is Cruz in Wyoming with 66%.
Careful.
It may be that Trump arrives with the largest minority of delegates (and votes, which count in an emotional way).
That would be a fact nearly impossible to run against. Indeed, as a Cruz supporter, I would recommend to Cruz that if indeed Donald shows up with the most delegates and votes, that Cruz throw his support and delegates to Trump. The winner should win.
But that isn’t what the rules allow. The rules allow for the other candidates to ask their delegates to vote for Cruz. Rubio, Kasich and so forth could pledge their delegates to Cruz, thereby securing the nomination in the manner prescribed by the party and convention. That would be legitimate, and allowed.
But I don’t recommend Cruz accept. Cruz would be far better to graciously defer to Donald’s win. Having done so, Cruz can legitimately claim his rightful win in another cycle. He’s only 45. Better to win the long game the right way.
Pluswhich, a “win” so arranged (by contention) would so alienate Trump supporters that it would be hollowed out by their staying home, voting for Hillary, or Trump’s third party run.
So, effectively, it is that the plurality winner must win. Or all is lost for everyone. Scorched earth and all that.
“an even better title for this article:
how to throw a third election to the Dems
the GOPe would love to throw the election to Hilary instead of Trump. They both serve the globalist overlords.
” Rules that they intended to use to force Jeb on us.”
Jeb can’t be forced. The only two eligible appear to be Trump and Cruz.
Either is a bitter pill for the RINOe.
Thought exercise:
Suppose the GOPe plays shenanigans and denies the nomination to both Trump and/or Cruz. Trump and Cruz then decide to go independent and join together on a ticket and run for President/VP.
How does one respond?
I would support the Trump/Cruz ticket even though I am not a Trump supporter.
Thoughts?
My meaning was that they intended to use those rules to keep outsiders out.
But then Trump happened and upset their avocado cart.
These articles are beyond ridiculous. Trump will be the winner and no contested convention will happen on the Republican side. Dems are the ones who might end up having to replace Hillary.
IMHO, what we have here is an engineered attempt to :
1) Incite violence at Trump rallies and blame it on trump.
2) Use the political cover and support of the MSM, the DNC, and the Obama administration in doing so.
3) Abjectly and openly influence the election process in the United States.
Thats what is going on here...and it is happening right before our eyes.
Bingo. The details are almost unimportant. What is important is that there are multiple plots going on to steal this election.
America doesn’t need a “globalist overlord serving” party. And we sure as hell don’t need Two of them !
It is amusing.
I wonder if they are going to prop up Kasich and get him into the mix of Trump and Cruz.
Kasich certainly appears to be Romney’s favorite.
They’ve already taken it, and reluctantly give you permission to sometimes occupy it for a significant portion of your income.
