The Pentagon wants to reboot a failed program designed to train Syrian rebels in the fight against the Islamic State, even though this same $500 million dollar program had almost nothing to show for itself.
The goal was to train 5,000 fighters, but the first class of 54 melted and scattered after being attacked by the al-Nusra front, the al-Qaida affiliate in Syria. The second class of so-called moderate rebels handed over at least 25 percent of their U.S. military gear to al-Nusra.
Pentagon officials now say theyve identified what elements of the program to tweak to make sure they dont repeat the same mistakes, The Hill reports. That the program is restarting is not surprising, as the intent was only to implement a brief interlude or operational pause.
According to Gen. Lloyd Austin, a key feature of the switch will include a shorter training program and concentration on a much smaller and select number of fighters.

Embarrassing photo...did they buy him an ice cream cone as well?
ISIS must be running out of armlament and arms ,
so they contacted their main supplier, Obungler !
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again , and expecting a different outcome !

Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Well that is true to a great extent— Hussein, Qaddafi, Mubarak, Why did we over throw them? They weren’ bothering us. Who are these war mongers who wnat to violate international law by attacking sovereign nations? what is their agenda? I’m tired of it. It kills out Troops and forces us to print more money.
The goal was to train 5,000 fighters, but the first class of 54 melted and scattered after being attacked...IOW, those thousands of jihadists? Not trained by the US, by Zero, by McCain, or anyone else.
[and 85-90% of the world's Muslims are Sunni, IOW, Shiites kill twice as many per capita]
“Hes got less than a year left and no one likes him - why in heck doesnt obama just sit down and shaddup.”
Don’t you know that Obama has to figure out how to spend as much money of the taxpayer as he can without having any positive results before and/if he leaves office.
There are no reliable Syrian rebels.
Once a designated group gathers up the training and materials, they immediately turn them over to ISIS.
Willingly or otherwise, the alignment against Bashar al-Assad is in one side of the fence, and the Current Regime has cast their lot with that side.
Obama knows that there are no ‘rebels.’
He just happens to be ISIS’ side.
The Russians finished their mission and are leaving. Two bits says if Obama starts training Assad’s enemies again they will return.

Pegged it. The second Putin pulls out, the Kenyan is aiding our enemies again.
Oh, and just what is the national debt today?
Note that the very first thing the "rebels" did in Libya was to set up a new, IMF client, central bank, 'cause, you know...that's what rebels do.
At 5 million for each person ‘trained’ I’m assuming BIG kickbacks all up and down the line...

The people we ‘train’ run... the people ISIS trains kill or be killed. We don’t have the b_lls to be in this fight... unless it’s for the kickbacks.. which it is...
Obama just wants to fund the savages. He’s going to be coming up with more-and-more ways to burn tax dollars and hurt America in the next 9 months.
We also trained the Iraqi army, and they turned out to be a typically undermotivated group of uniformed dogs with flee. ISIS showed up, those who didn’t just drop everything and try to melt into the populace wound up captured and executed basically immediately, not a shot fired.
