NORTH CANTON The campaign of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has declined to reimburse the city and Stark County about $14,500 that local officials say they incurred to provide security, firefighter coverage and other services for Romneys Oct. 26 rally at Hoover High School.
With the U.S. Secret Service saying it does not cover such costs, it appears that local taxpayers are on the hook for much of that amount.
The campaign is also declining to pay the more than $600 in police and fire overtime costs North Canton said it incurred for Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryans appearance at Walsh University on Aug. 16.
Im disappointed theyre not paying it, said Mayor David Held. We hoped they would be operating in good faith, but we made it clear they would be charged for the services.

Romney may be related to the deadbeat Kennedys. Must be something in the water in MA that causes a sense of entitlement.
What a cheapskate.
That’ll cost KaSUCK a few votes...
No wonder Mittens lost OH.
He was too cheap to bear the costs of holding his own rallies in the state.
That's part of the price to society of allowing the leftist yahoo element to run at large.
Typical crony capitalist, GOP elitist, cult follower Romney in the taxpayer trough. Cheapskate SOB.
