“That strategy will surely alienate some of Trump’s supporters, said Sara Fagen”
Is Sara a LESBIAN? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that she is a LESBIAN, I’m just ‘askin’, particularly given the GOP penchant to ALMOST ALWAYS find gay ‘advisers’ - so I wouldn’t be surprised if she was a ‘switch hitter’ also.
Precisely
Reagan fooled em all. He didn’t die when shot. Became more resolute
People knew it was an end to a great person.
I was so fooled by GHW.
A GREAT WEEKEND TO YOU ALL.
I'm going to sign out till Tuesday to celebrate Trumps Victories.
FreeRepublic is so addicting.
I really dont think he could break it any worse than it is already.
Basically we are just going to put the party into ‘receivership’ with The Donald running things until we can get at least one or two good cleansing enemas acomplished and see how we are feeling.
I was disappointed when Reagan chose Bush. I didn’t vote in ‘88. I voted for Perot in ‘92. I can say that I never voted for old man Bush. And I only voted once for his son.
Good! Break it so bad it can’t come back.
And they think that is a bad thing?
The endorsements just keep coming.
AMEN
And the problem is ....?
****************
My thoughts exactly..
My question is what do we call the new party?
it is the Republican Party
the party that currently controls the congress and will support the Republican president Trump
LOL!!!
“The Republican Party needs broken.”.....
Looking back in recent history, the Republican party “broke” ITSELF, Trump wasn’t even on the scene when the GOP went down the tubes. Its now time to flush the toilet and start over.
YES! Success.
"Amen" is uncalled for when the obliterated object lacks a soul to be saved.
Totally agree. The GOP "elites" remind me of the Scottish nobles in Braveheart.
“Enormous stature” Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan? Is she insane?
“Donald Trump fundamentally breaks the Republican Party, and it is not the same party moving forward ever again,”
Sounds like a plan!
She’s right. Trump holds virtually no GOP positions and, frankly, they should have stopped him from running as a GOP candidate when they had a chance. But the fact that they didn’t and couldn’t shows the whole problem with the GOP: they don’t make people stick to positions.
The GOP in theory is quite good, but virtually none of the elected legislators or anybody else adheres to the program.
Mostly they err on the side of being too accomodating to soft liberal positions. But the GOP is also completely lost when confronting somebody like Trump, who is essentially not a conservative but a libertarian (we don’t have a nihilist party yet, otherwise he’d be that).
So it all goes back to weakness at the core of the party.
