Donald Trump officially added John Kasich to his list of "no-action, all-talk politicians" Friday afternoon, hitting the Ohio governor harder than usual in his first attack ad against him.
The 30-second spot, first tweeted out by Trump, will air throughout the Buckeye State, according to the Trump campaign. The ad comes just days before Ohio's primary on Tuesday and claims Kasich "helped Wall Street predator Lehman Brothers destroy the world economy" and criticizes the Ohio governor for spending time in states other than his own.
Kasich joined Lehman's investment banking division as managing director in 2001, working there until the firm's collapse in September 2008, which unleashed global panic and served as a catalyst for the financial crisis.
Referring to Kasich's campaign as a "failing presidential bid," the ad also makes the claim that Kasich "gave Ohio Obamacare," a reference to his decision to expand Medicaid.

Good.
It’s about time this arrogant little puke gets called out for being a phony.
Point out the fact that Kasich voted for NAFTA too. That will get the Trump voters riled-up.
Kasich voted for NAFTA?
In Ohio the story is that he refuses to attend any meeting where anyone other than him is going to be recognized. According to friends who work with him, he is an arrogant POS who will do anything the money people tell him.
Is this the same Lehman Brothers Donald Endorsed bailing out with our Tax Dollars? Bwahahahaha Yeah you bet Donald. /s
Of all the states on Super Tuesday 2, I think that Ohio is going to be the most difficult for Trump to win. That’s why he’s going after Kasich. That said, he should be careful, considering that Kasich is popular in Ohio.
==========================================
What does Kasich know about this?
The best book on the 2008-9 crisis was The Sellout, by Charles Gasparino. He traces several threads:
- How the investment banks (Merrill, Lehman, Bear Stearns) had leveraged themselves into near-death experiences before
- How US government policies virtually forced banks to make low-down payment mortgages to buyers with sub-standard credit, forcing up prices
- How securitization meant these sub-standard loans could be bundled up and sold far and wide (w/ great losses to the buyers)
- How the ratings agencies gave this crap AAA ratings
- How the sales incentives to create mortgage-backed securities led to incredible short term behavior on the part of investment bankers
- How AIG (insurance) screwed up by guaranteeing many of these in Credit Default Swaps....etc, etc, etc.
It took an unholy confluence of eventsgovernment policy, investment banker greed, and last, but not least, securitization to create the perfect storm.....and swamped taxpayers w/ billion dollar bailouts.

BTW....did Lehman do any education, transportation, municipal bonding deals for Ohio? That/s where the pols and the bank make zillions of dollars in perpetuity.
Also leaves the taxpayers w/ huge tax bills....in perpetuity.
Just look up Kasich in WikiPedia. Then have fun from there.
I never trust “single source” info.
“Not all things you read are necessarily the truth.”
-Abraham Lincoln
Even though the system was saved the real problem was the lack of federal prosecutions. All who sold those phony mortgage packages should have gone to jail.
He isn’t all that popular.
“In Ohio the story is that he refuses to attend any meeting where anyone other than him is going to be recognized.”
Long ago I was at a graduation in South Carolina where then-Senator (and Democrat) Fritz Hollings was on stage. The reason I remember it so well was because no one introduced him, and he never said a word. He just sat there (with his cap and gown) through it all and left when it was over.
It was probably the CLASSIEST performances that I ever saw from any politician in my life.
You're probably right. I expect a lot of strong conservatives don't like him. Considering that it's not a closed primary, Trump has a real chance.
Ohio is a closed primary state.
There are many voters in Ohio who are not aware of Kasich’s involvement in the looting and destruction of Lehman Brothers. It’s a very smart move by Trump.
