Lawyers like Cruz (and apparently, “a lot,” of his supporters) have yet to realize that typical Americans are sick of this lawyerly parsing of words. Yes, there is something to be said for precise language when called for, but it’s rarely needed in the way normal people speak to each other on a day-to-day basis.
People identify with Trump because he speaks like them and to them. Cruz may do well presenting his cases to SCOTUS members in their black robes, but appears to have a lot of difficulty making his case to the people who will render their judgment behind the black curtain of the voting booth.
But please, keep up the condescension to, and condemnation of the Trump voters. It only reinforces the negatives of Cruz and his followers.
